  1. The whole saga: Test drove Lupo at my local VW garage, ready to sign fiance papers and it was sold by another garage in the group. Found a similar car on the VW used car website (in Chester), 6000 miles, black interior and was assured it would be OK, was ordered in but when it arrived had 9,000 miles and red interior, also all wheels scuffed up. Garage repaired wheels and I drove away in the car (not quite what I wanted but happy to have it anyway). I had all kinds of issues with the car: gearbox o/s drivers window x2 indicator switch x2 exhaust pipe bracket exhaust flexipipe clutch engine management fault all of which were repaired by the garage except the gearbox was never resolved. VW finally said that they couldn't fix the gearbox, so I approached the saleman and pushed for a solution, and the rest you know. It's not the ideal answer as it has cost me money (settling the outstanding finance) and time but hopefully the end result will be worth it
  2. it only had 14,000 miles on it. i assume that it will be sold on, hopefully they will fix it first, i did discuss it with them and they said if an independent part returned it again they would fix it. Just disappointed that they couldn't fix it for me but excited as the new Lupo has Aircon and Leather... See if i have more luck this time round.
  3. I had this and found a plastic clip in the middle windscreen air vent, i prised it out and suffered no more. I don't know what the clip was for but have noticed no adverse effects.
  4. Hey Guys, Don't know if any of you remember the problem I had with my Lupo, gearshift and clutch etc.... Well 4 months later, 9 visits to the garage and me making a complete pain in the ass of myself, my new Lupo GTI arrives this weekend! That's right, they took the old car back. Suffice to say I was losing all hope but now they have come good. Just thought I'd let you guys know, most dealers are evil but sometimes they come good (even if it is for an easy life!) Cheers for all you help in the past.
