The brakes at the 1.4 lupo are not so bad. I work at a rental company and the cars we have for rent (not older than 6 months) often breaks less than the lupo. Mine is complet standard, but when i hit the breaks hard mij nose is serieus hitting the front window. My gues is that there is something bad with your brakes. Normaly it should brake hard

If you want to lower the lupo do not only change the springs. Change also the shocks. The ride wil be much more comfotable.

60 mm drop on the standard shocks is driveable. At mine lupo de drop is only 40 mm at the standard shocks and it drive's terible. If there is a little bump in the way, the shocks get slammed into the car. And if you have 15 inch rims, you wil sometimes get your tires bumped into the car.
