Is there any easy fix to a leaking open air roof or anywhere you can get them I am really struggling???

Went to replace my thermostat housing today however the new part didn't have a pipe for the return to the resivour? However the old one broke on removal I've glued it back on but don't have a return (must have glued it to much) but doesn't seem to be overheating and fan is kicking in as usual? Is it not needed?
