    1.4 8v 2 a 1.6 8v

if anyone is bored and looking for a mission. could you look on the club polo site, as its blocked by my server. (at work just now). see how similar the 1.4 is to the 1.6 8v. i have a sneaky suspition that it will be a straight swap. same downpipe mountings and wiring. hopefully. how do i upload a pic of ma wee red puddle jumper? 1998 red arosa 1.4 mpi. lowered 80mm on wolfrace street octane rims. 195x45x15. otherwise standard.

    1.4 8v 2 a 1.6 8v

sorry folks, i was talking about the MK4 polo engine. i'm looking for the quickest and cheapest method. not looking for much more power, seen a few engines on e-bay going for little as £200 for the block head and ecu.. think this is all i need. otherwise a straight swap. well they look the same. where could i find spec to compare sizes and mounting, manifolds and exhaust stuff. basically looking for a straight replacement engine. sticking coilovers on it next week, so it would be ideal to change the engine at the same time. thanks in advance.

    1.4 8v 2 a 1.6 8v

is there no one out there who can help me out here? 30 odd views and not one post. ma car is due to die.
  4. my 1.4 8v engine is goosed. instead of replacing it as a straight swap, is there any hassle in putting a 1.6 8v in it. would i need a different ecu, loom etc. is it the same block and engine mounts etc. need some advice. appreciated. thanks in advance.

    1.8T arosa

i run a 1.4mpi arosa. have been offered a 1.8T golf which is smashed for pennies. was wondering about doing a conversion into ma wee arosa. is there a guide showing which components i would need to strip and replace, and a guide to fitting it? if everything looks pretty straight forward, i might go ahead, but if i cant find a guide, then i cant be arsed with the hassle.
  7. i am planning on lowering my car tonight. its an arosa, already lowered 40mm, no where near enough. looking to take it down at least another 40mm, will i have any problems? like driveshafts rubbing etc, it's running 195x45x15 et38 wheels. looks like it could go 60mm further before the wheels come level with the arches, this is from where it sits just now..
  8. i have this problem with my arosa, i took it apart and noticed that the aftermarket pads i used were about 1/2mm shorter in the caliper, so when i reversed, they would lock on to the disc and clunk once off the calliper. then the same when i went forward. not sure if this could be what you are experiencing. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  9. screw the legalities, i was sitting at 155mph in ma mates turbo'd mk1 golf at the weekend. the revs are sitting about 4500 flat out.
  10. my 1.4 8v mpi seat arosa feels quite slow. i can only manage 100mph downhill, is this normal?
  11. my arosa 1.4 8v MPI is running like *****, its hunting. reving from 1000 - 2000rpm, found a burst vacume hose, replaced it only for it to drop to about 1500rpm, but i still have the problem with the hunting. any ideas? when im driving, it kinna chuggs. ma mate says it will take the engine management a wee while to fix its self. when i rev the car, it take a good 5 seconds for the revs to drop.
