  1. i can give info for this, i also bought the H&R camber bolts and H&R cup kit from orange tuning. the bolts do not work with the cup kit. the cam things are too big to tighten with the struts fitment. the camber bolts would be good for a standard or maybe other aftermarket struts.

be aware the front shocks (by blistein) are very stiff indeed. so the ride is a lot more solid.

  2. i was thinking that it might be more economical to get the standard abarth and then purchase the 180bhp special tuning kit. you get 180bhp whether you have the standard 135bhp abarth or 155bhp abarth. time will tell.

at the moment i would rather have a gti version of the new lupo (Up!) or arosa (Ros). reasons being quality and rwd fun, rwd being the main reason.

if i won some money though i would illegally import a nissan GTR from japan.

  3. this is one of todays news topics. scientists have been given permision to reasearch human embryos/cells developed inside cow eggs.

giving 99.9% human reproducing cells. there is an element of ethical protesting going on about this and legal challeges will ensue.

this is very advanced research and will likely lead to cures to very nasty human diseases, maybe including cancers. my point would be as even if it does get banned somewhere in the world will continue the research, and cures will be found. what would be the ethical choice of a protester who say in 15 years time there young son or daughter develops a serious illness and a cure is available, but only because of the drugs developed by the human stem cell research. do they let their child die or have a low quality of life? i think they would see it differently and be tempted to allow there child to take the medication. unless they were really insane..

    any views?

  4. When is this possibly coming into play and will it effect our cars now or just new cars from when the legislation kicks in?

its being proposed by the EU at present. it would only effect cars fitted by the manufacturer with eco tyres, or tyres that effect the lowness of the claimed overall co2 car rating. the usual practice for these laws is to do it from new cars when the law passes and not retrospecrvely. either way the lupo gti is safe thank goodness. otherwise would have ended up with an overpriced tyre and with it being crap.

  5. It could be soon that motorists will no longer be able to change the type of their tyre to find a cheaper or better performing alternative.

thats if you buy a car with a type approved energy saving tyre fitted as standard. EU will ban alternatives as an MOT fail will be given on the cars Co2 rating of the required tyres are not fitted. as the car is sold by the manufactureres with a stated CO2 rating, which effects taxes and the legal requirement of manufactuers to get a target rating for the average of its cars sold.

well i can see how to avoid that mess by just removing the standard wheels and tyres, get your own nice aftermarket alloys with preferred tyres, and come MOT time reto fit the original wheels. easy.

  6. hmm strong opinions, in a violent sense.

surely public money should be better spent on making a time machine.

then we can all go back in time righting all the wrongs human kind has made.

a bit like quantum leap. but on a global industrial scale.

or we could just transport all criminals back to the time of the dinosaurs, equipping them with a plastic cafe knife and 3 waterproof plasters.

  7. stainless does rust, not as quickly as mild steel. depends on impurities in the steel aswell. i know a few people who have had powerflow stainless systems fall to pieces from rust in just a few years.

if it is just the weld colour and not rust then it looks ugly for sure, i have seen a lot nicer stainless welding without any discolouration.

  8. varta batteries

looked up lupo gti, you can get replacement 60ah, or 70 and 77ah upgrades for the gti.

    not bad to know.

although i would go in the other direction and get smaller ones to save weight. i have driven with 12ah motobike battery before. not very reliable lol.

the best batteries to get are the varley red top, i have had one of these race batteries and it was excellent. not much bigger area than palm of hand and about palm lenght high, but had big cranking amps capability. totaly sealed aswell, so good for boot usage. demon tweeks do them.
