  1. take very good care of it!

    i would ask for a top special brand/sports gear oil as it would be a higher spec than standard vw oil. for £1,264 get only the best for your new box.

    choose from here for a great selection of oils. opie oils

    register on the vwaudi forum or any on the list named on the opie website and you get a good discount. i used them myself and they are very helpful.

    clupo lupo could get its own discount aswell if any admin wanted to email them. they sell engine oils, filters, plugs etc.

  2. the standard GG compound R888 with fun usage in the gti will last me nearly 7,000 miles. and thats by swapping the fronts and rears to make sure they wear out at the same time for all 4. thats without being on a track day, but i do have lots of fun roads where i live. i will kill them soon by finishing them off at castle combe next month. you can get SG R888 aswell they are even softer, they must be awesome.

    R888 are very temperature sensitive, they are pretty useless at low temps, they need warming up for them to give up the grip. i'm not suggesting tyre blankets though!

    these new tyres from toyo look a lot better choice, and i will go for them. R888 get too cold for winter/colder seasons.

  3. gt5 must have good servers then to sort out that low bandwidth lol. my download is 1meg and upload 58kps. not good enough for peer to peer games. i still cant play though as i only have usb mobile internet, and ps3 can only take ethernet, there are ethernet mobile modems available, very expensive though probably.

  4. yes could use similar ducting, cant use the 45deg section though, thats half the reason i'm not going that way now. need another 90 degree instead to go in that direction. then flexi ducting to connect that down to intake duct at lower grill.

    edit: actually the 45 degree might go from the bmc filter, and then over to the 90deg towards the air inlet, but the 75mm tubing i have will not fit down towards the lower grill. need 63mm/2.5" tubing. which you can also get, and would be a bit cheaper also, but will need more sections to get there unless as said you just use flexi 63mm ducting from the grill intake upto the engine bay where the alloy tubing starts. depends what you want really.

    yeah i'm stuck on the evo challenge i'm still at least a second off getting the gold, its just going to take me a long time to get that one, so you managed it in the end?

    do you get any prize for gold in all classes?

    i use all aids off. although in a tough challenge i use automatic box for the GTR 07, this is realistic though as in the game the driver doesnt take his hands off the wheel to change gear in the GTR. i normally use the H gated gearbox with the g25 wheel and pedals, shame the clutch is not coded into the game it doesnt do anything.

    i'm currently trying to get cash to buy the ferrari f430 to complete the A class.

  6. how much this set cost you? will it snapp all together to fit a bmc? ill buy it!!

    i'd sell the black intake duct for £16 including postage. cost me £21.10 inc postage.

    as pictured it can use 2.5" or 3" ducting to go to wherever from the lower bumper grill, use flexi hose ducting available in 1m lengths to get from intake duct to filter.

    if you mean a whole kit in the different way i'm doing it will let you know how much that is once i have finished it.

  7. The thing about removing the breather is that even if you can route it somewhere that the fumes won't bother you, the loss of strong negative pressure in the crank case can cause a previously dry engine to start leaking oil.

    As far as performance goes - unless you have some bad blow-by I promise you'll never notice the difference. The expulsion of hot oil vapour is a few cc's a second, in the same time the engine draws 1000's of cc's of air.

    everything counts though . i don't think its just oil vapour that comes out of the crankcase breather, feels mostly like air when the hand is over it. i'm just guessing but the engine is supplying the same suction to the diameter of the breather hose as the cold air inlet, the mm difference between the 2 bores would give a ratio of what dead air your getting to good air? about 20%. it probably isnt that simple, but in cases when a lot of useless gas vents out thats the maximum potential draw. and on that crucial overtake manoeuvre it could do without being there.

  8. i'm not sure yet. will either do that by getting a self sealing tap off part for silcon hose ( from demon) then plug in the exit hose from tank. or i might duct the outlet from tank in an unrestricted way down to bottom of engine bay and facing rearwards, so in a negative pressure area, not as good as the engine vacuum, but certainly better than attaching one of those "breather filters" to the tank outlet. i think this is how track/rally cars are done, they disconnect the crankcase so the non oxygenated air doesnt go into the TB. but racing regulations say you cant have free oil vapour in the bay, so it has to be caught in the tank 1st. possible fire hazard? i dont know.

    i think i have got the wrong size intake duct though, i need a slightly smaller one for where i want to take my custom induction from. if anyone want to buy it for there upgraded ducting to airbox or aftermarket filter then let me know. it fits perfect behind the lower bumper grill as pictured,

    i checked this so it could be useful to someone else, it hasn't been "used". my black catch tank is about to arrive, and to set everything up like i want to i have decided to get a BMC CDA, as this will allow me to have the space and flexibility for my custom ducting setup. pictured is where i will be taking the inlet air from, enlarged hole behind upper grill.

  10. i will post up some times to beat or challenges some time, i have been enjoying this great game. i am about clear the class A events.

    trophy challenge:

    who has the most gold trophies?

    i have completed all gold in class C and will get onto doing all gold in class B and A soon. i didnt get a prize for all gold in C, perhaps get something for gold in all classes, anyone done that?

    not wasted at all, perfect for the 1.0 i would say. good quality grip for the small size tyres, just right for some 1.0 rural road fun.

    You never say oh that dog is woofing ? you say that dog is barking....

    people do, maybe its down to where you grow up or a cultural thing. its also more a child like way to say woof aswell. which is no bad thing.

  13. if the the planet earth was taken apart down to its atoms and then rebuilt again with them as tightly as possible it would be smaller than a pea.

    (you and i wouldn't exist, although there maybe a very tiny confused armadillo.)
