  1. I was made very welcome at my first Edition38 meet by young and old alike, even though I'm an old Grumpy Bugger!

Many of those who feel persecuted either take what is given as a bit of banter too seriously and then get themselves in trouble by mouthing off back, or give un-needed/warranted remarks and then don't like to be told to toe the line.

CL is generally a pretty free and easy place to be and as mentioned up there somewhere if it wasn't I, and loads of others, would visit less.

I don't agree that this is an unfriendly statement, but a reality. Your comment reminds me of the Mary Whitehouse syndrome wherebye people watch something on TV that is risque (accent missing!) then complaining about it. If you don't like something, don't watch it or use it. There are many other alternatives out there.

I belong to a few forums and this is definately the best for me. I 've joined a copuple of forums which I didn't like and decided not to go back. I didn't complain. Well maybe once!

...and of course Nicki is predictable, she's an accountant! Think yourself lucky she doesn't bill you for her advice.

i realise both your points about not liking something so dont experience it. my only point was that i think this club can be very unfriendly.

thats quite funny about the accountant.

  2. compared to the fox its a supermodel.

i think it will look a lot nicer in real life than in pictures. as the small is beutyful thing will take effect.

it manages to look quite modern generic from the rear though, aygo c1 107 etc. but its not too bad.

if VVL stands for variable valve lift that would be good. i apprecaite they need economy versions, but there is a hugh market for the sport versions aswell so i'm actually quite confident at least one of the vw/seat/skoda versions will have the gti spirit.

  3. according to autoexpress this is the showroom look for the UP!, not a concept.

These will come in petrol or diesel guises, and have a capacity of around 600cc. Both units are likely to be turbocharged, and VW is targeting CO2 emissions of less than 100g/km and combined fuel economy of 94mpg. A 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol motor is under consideration, too.

the micro-car from Skoda, which will be its first rear-engined model since the Estelle. Given Skoda’s desire to go its own way in terms of design, the new entry-level machine is likely to benefit from a markedly different shape to the up! It is expected to debut around a year or so after the VW reaches showrooms.

Meanwhile, a small car based on the up! will fill the gap left in the SEAT line-up when the Arosa was axed in 2004. Expect to see it debut at around the same time as the Skoda version, with both models getting the same VW-developed two-cylinder petrol and diesel engines as the up!

  4. Dark, if you brushed up on your social skills, you'd be less of a target. :coffee:

all i'm saying is that this is the most unfreindly forum i have been on, i'm not making it up, i have the same "poor social skills" on other forums but dont have any of the issues like i get from thugs on here.

  5. On the whole, this forum is very friendly. I've been on here well over 4 years and there's very few people on here I wouldn't like to meet in real life. There's a few people who get on my nerves, but thats going to be the case with any forum really.

I think the size of the CL camping at E38 and the effort people put in to the club stand, theme, club atmosphere etc gives a good example of how friendly a club we are!

If you don't like it, feel free to leave... :coffee:

    Have a nice day.

i knew you would say that nicki, this is an example of the unfriendliness of some of the clublupo members, so condescending. i have a brain, i can decide myself if i prefer to be somewhere else i dont need to be told repeatedly.

    perfect example. and predictable.

  6. this is the most unfriendly forum i have been on there are lots of mental retards on here . but i havent been on lots of car forums to compare so it could be a lot worse. the best ones for being able to be yourself are the car forums linked to commercial companies/businesses and not private forums/ car club owners etc. they dont allow abuse and are moderated . my favourite is 4car. boy the amount of diesel arguments i have had on there is great.

  7. good job. does look quite oem. i'm going to the grill on the other side where there is a hole also.

about the rain or even a bucket of water thrown in there is not a problem, filters can take getting a little wet. small amounts of water that even get past the filter are not a problem either.

  8. i'm sure a 60bhp clutch wont handle 140bhp. or the gearbox itself? drive shafts will be very small also. you would need to strengthen the arosa stock parts i would have thought.

i wouldnt get hopes up of saying bye bye to a gti though. unless you mean on a drag strip. the arosa would be a lot heavier than a gti.

  9. hope this helps, would be good for first time,as it has stability. and is not too fast.

  10. Thanks sorry bout 2 different threads but new to the site and didn't know what section to put it under. Yeh i was hoping for more than 160 BHP, but that's what i got told from 2 different garages. They said i couldn't turbo it i could ecu remap it and chip it upto 160BHP. But i dont want to remap it because a mate had a remap on hid seat leon and blew his engine. Think i will be saving up for the stage 2, 185 BHP sounds good.

hmm doesnt make much sense, never speak to those garages again they sound like morons. remap/chip will take you to about 130ish bhp.
