  1. aint that slow, tbh same argument with the golf... i'd rather spend the extra money and get a mini
  2. yer the minis are about 5-6k but really your'e getting a BMW for the money. The Lupos are fast and build quality is good but i'd rather pay that little bit extra for a potential of 131BHP whem chipped lol, plus the cred of owning a mini :Pthe mini 1D's are too expensive as they are relativley new
  3. well yes, but ive been thinking about it and Lupos are too expensive for what they are. for eaxctly the same money i can buy a VW golf 1.4 with less miles! but ive decided to buy a new mini one coz i love em, and if im spending 4.5k on a lupo i may aswell spend that bit extra and get a much better car, plus the mini one can be chipped to give the same or better power than the cooper so i think thats wot im going to buy. but dont get me wrong the lupo TDI was fantastic, but it rolled too much on corners and its too small for the stupid price they cost
  4. true, but tbh i get more of a smile from putting my foot down and it just pulling like a train rather than shifting down and revving the balls off it like you do with a petrol
  5. im not really arsed about traffic light races, how often does anyone actually go from 0-60. im more interested in instant power for say overtaking or whatever? i rekon the TDI will be best for that?
  6. standard cars, im right in saying that the TDI is quicker from 30 -50 or 50-70 than the petrol sport?
  7. I test drove a standard TDI today, and i was suprised at how much power you get after 2000rpm once that turbo kicks in... Ive drove a petrol sport also, the TDI defo had more of the grin factor as when you put your foot down it just goes, no need for changing down lol. So people TDI Sport or Petrol Sport 100BHP?
  8. lol why? anyway du u know the answer to my q?
  9. I'm wanting to buy a faster car (I currently drive a 1.1 saxo), my initial thoughts were to buy a Lupo Sport 100BHP although i have found out that the Lupo TDI Sport can be remapped to about 108BHP with increased torque. Does anyone know how a remapped TDI sport compares to the same car in standard form? (ie 0-60 times or whatever) Also does anyone know how a remapped TDI compares to a standard petrol sport 100BHP? I'm looking for a car that will be a hoot to drive by the way, i want something fast like the petrol sport but with the torque of a diesel lol
  10. Hey there all, ok so i'm not strictly a newbie as i used to my account ages ago before i got a car as i have a soft spot for lupos lol... Since then i've bin driving a 1.1 saxo VTR look-a-like but i want something a bit faster and ive checked with my insurance and for what i'm paying i can be driving something much faster... so im after a Lupo 1.4 Sport . . . if anyone knows someone whos selling one?
  11. you should deffinatly try www.bell.co.uk they quoted me £1200 for a Lupo Sport and i've NO NCB. the nearest anyone else could quote me was £1700 (ensleigh)
  12. yer i do want one, in fact im considering the tdi sport simply for the amazing fuel economy... how tuneable are the tdi sports?
  13. no it wasnt that, the silver was on the surround of the whole centre console
  14. maybe it was on a seat. It was silver all round the cd player and on the cup holders and round the centre air vents
  15. How come some Lupo's I see have a silver centre console interior rather than black/grey?
  16. howcome the S is slower than the Sport and less powerful but revs lower on motorways?
  17. coz thts wot al beable to get for my price range
  18. wel what does a average X reg S and Sport cost respectivly on ebay then?
  19. well i was asuming that an S was about £2200+ and a Sport is about £3000+
  20. As the title says guys! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" /> I'm talking about 2nd hand Lupos here, with a budget of about £3500 to buy about an 2000 Sport or equivilant for the money...
  21. wow so it would appear that your top end speed has increased, that could just be to do with the induction kit and whatever other performance parts you have one... so how did your acceleration 0-60 differ with the new size of wheels?
  22. so basically if you are going to go up a wheel size you need to go down a tyre profile size to keep the rolling radius the same so that your speedo and gear ratios are the same? I read that with bigger wheels the weight is obviously further away from the centre of the wheel and therefore it requires more force to turn it, (because it has a greater moment)? so is this correct or what? i want bigger wheels but i want to have lightning acceleration...
  23. Sorry to dumb things down here but how does your wheel size affect the quickness of your car? Is it the bigger the wheels the faster due to the circumference difference, and so bigger wheels per turn will travel further and hence you can go faster?
  24. i can smell sum bullshit with what nev is saying lol... anyway back to the origional topic
