  1. Buying a house isn't so bad as you never see the money - it magically appears as a new bank account called "mortgage" with a massive negative balance as the money leaves the account & heads to the solicitors without you having to do more than sign a couple of pieces of paper.

The deposit for a house is a different kettle of fish entirely - that *was* your money and you've had to hand it over to the solicitors. Largest personal cheque I've ever written and not something I ever want to experience again! (Although mine was in 2 chunks - deposit on exchange and then the difference between my mortgage and the balance outstanding on the purchase price on completion - cheques for £17,000 and £28,000 + solicitors fees about 2 weeks later).

Before that, the biggest personal cheque I'd ever written was for the Lupo - about £7,500 after the PX for my old car.

(Biggest cheque I've ever written was for a client - £1,350,000 for their quarterly corporation tax instalment. Ouch.)

  2. I'm with Ray on this one. We pay enough for the upkeep of the forum already without being ebay's bitch too.

Not to mention that areas like the one you mention help add to scene tax because everyone sees things on the forum, follows the link to ebay and decides to punt a bid in too, forcing the price up even further.

    3rded.

P.S OP edited to remove shameless advertising ;)

  3. If you already have funds in your paypal account & mark it as a gift, no one pays any fees.

If you don't have funds in your paypal account (& therefore paypal are going to have to take the money from your debit/credit card or bank account), marking it as a gift gives you the option to pay the credit card fee yourself rather than passing it on to the recipient.

As said, if you mark it as a gift, you have no buyer protection so if things go belly up, you have no recourse.

  4. A1 is lovely but it's a mis-build (no leather seats!) so I am told my "proper" car has now been built and I should have it within a couple of weeks.

Seems to have been a lot of misbuilds so far... not good really!

  5. This ruling is stupid. Willingness to insure a driver is a gamble based upon risk and the premiums are set accordingly. If you're part of a group of people that are known to be the cause of a disproportionately high fault claims, then you should expect to pay more for cover. It's a well know fact that most high value claims are caused by male drivers and younger ones in particular.

Exactly what I said when this was being discussed at work the other day. Next thing you know it'll be against the law to charge younger drivers or the elderly more because it's age discrimination.

I do agree that it is unfair to have women only insurance companies but I certainly don't think it's unfair that our insurance is generally cheaper as statistically we are less of a risk on the road than men...

  6. My lupo was situated 125 miles away when I found it... drove down one horrible Thursday afternoon in January, took it for a test drive in the dark/wet and got the salesman to let me drive it into their workshop so I could view it in the light. Picked it up on the Saturday morning just over a week later.

All in all, 500 miles to get my lupo. :)

    design19copy.jpg

Both designs will be printed on white tshirts and are available in the following sizes:

    Ladies

The sizes are approximate, based on the tshirts available last time:

    S (Approx Chest Chest 32")

    M (Approx Chest 34")

    L (Approx Chest 36")

    XL (Approx Chest 38")

    Mens

Again, the sizes are approximate, based on the tshirts available last time:

    S (Approx Chest 35-37")

    M (Approx Chest 38-40")

    L (Approx Chest 41-43")

    XL (Approx Chest 44-46")

    design19copy.jpg

    Colours & Sizes

We’re also offering Design 2 ONLY on hoodies and the design will be reversed so it is white writing on a black background

Sizes as above for the tshirts.

    How to Order

    - Tshirts are £15 each

    - Hoodies are £24 each.

    - There is a £3 P&P charge per order

I realised these are fairly expensive, but there are one-off setup costs that need to be covered. Rest assured that if we make any profit on the t-shirts (which is unlikely unless we sell more than 15 of each...), this will go into the CL kitty to contribute towards the future running costs of the forum.

Payment via Paypal ONLY please to n_a_westbrook @ hotmail.com (without the spaces!)

Important: Please mark it as a gift otherwise I will have to pay Paypal charges and will just end up asking you for more money!

You need to tell me in the message the following:

    1) Which design you would like and if you are ordering design 2, if you want a tshirt or a hoody

    2) Which size you require

    3) Your address

All items will be delivered to me by the printers and I will post them on as soon as I've got them.
