  1. Anyone with chrome steel 15" wheels wheels around here? I could really use a picture if so.
  2. Only after about 30 minutes or so in city driving. With castrol 10w60 at cruising speeds it doesn't come on only when slowing down. I'm suspecting the cold air blowing on the engine influences the temperature or something. Its behavior it weirder then my girlfriends.
  3. I blamed the wiring at some point but due to its behavior I don't think its the case here. I used this. The one in the picture but without any "plus" on it. Ran the engine at idle for about 10 minutes then changed the oil and filter. Haven't seen forte products around here. I'll search on ebay for it if you're kind to show me the exact thing.
  4. Thanks but that doesn't seem to be enough with this one. Also after less than 200 miles the oil got dirty and I did flush it before with some liqui moly stuff. I have absolutely no idea what is going on over there. Do you still have the car? How has been running the last couple of years? Did the low oil pressure cause any mechanical problems to the engine or the way it sounds? I don't mind the light blinking as long as it runs well in the future. I'm thinking to put a lot of oil additives in it so the oil keeps its high viscosity at temperature.
  5. I've heard that dropping an egg inside the cooling system solves the problem for a few years. Not joking.
  6. Hello clublupo I have a 1.4 16v AUA lupo bought recently and like many others my oil pressure light started to blink. Changed the sensor, checked the sump, oil pump looks relatively new or reconditioned and still no fix. No smoke from the exhaust at all. Doesn't drink oil, maybe just a bit but normal. Checked the oil pressure and it doesn't go over 2 bar when hot. The engine could have been rebuilded as I've heard these engines drink a lot of oil. Unfortunately I have no history. I've put castrol edge 10w60 and that partially solved the problem. On cruising speeds light doesn't blink only after a while after engine reaches temperature! and driving around town. When cold and a while after gets to temperature there's no problem. The engine seems to be "degrading" the oil as in the first miles there's no blinking. I was going to replace it with the 1.6 8v SR engine found on golf but stupid regulations make that very expensive to get it legal. So I'm looking for at least a temporary fix until I'll buy a tdi. I was thinking to replace the head with a used one but that ain't cheap either and above all it might not fix anything. Also I'm thinking a better cooling could help since on the highway wind blows on the radiator while around town doesn't. Any sugestions? Thanks.
  7. I've been looking for a polo gti engine lately and found none. I'm not going to search anymore, it's no use. But I'm very interested in the 1.6 SR engine found on the golf. I've heard is more 'torquey' than the 16v model and one of the best petrol engines vw ever made. Most likely no one made this conversion but it's worth asking. Engine mounts are my biggest concern. Then are the gears. If I get the 1.6sr engine with its gearbox wont that make the gears very short considering the wheel diameter difference between lupo and golf? Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of shorter gears (better acceleration) but I still need 5th gear to be ~2000rpm to 50mph for cruising.
  8. Problem is even polo gti is very rare around this lands so finding a gti engine is almost impossible. On the other hand you can find a golf 1.6 pretty much everywhere. If the golf and the polo gti have the same bottom end or at least the exact same mounts is pretty much enough for me. I was curious if there are more differences than the head which could be easily swapped. Not necessary with a gti head but with a 1.4 16v head as I've seen a few conversions around here. I believe it should work if the bottom ends are the same.
  9. I'm interested if any of the engines on golf could be tuned close to gti's power and torque. They're much cheaper and easier to find.
  10. Can someone tell me the differences between Golf mk4's 1.6 8v/16v and the 1.6 engines on lupo/polo gti? Which one of the 8v and 16v will fit straight on a 1.4s? Thanks.
  11. How about the 1.2 TSI? Will it fit? My lupo is probably having the low pressure 'flu' that seems pretty common for these engines. I'll know for sure later this week. And if I do, I will most likely need a new engine. If that's the case then I'm thinking about trying something different, a turbocharged one for low end torque. And a small one for costs. Tbh I doubt I will find an ecoboost engine for a decent price and fit it legal, at least not in the near future. But the 1.2 TSI 105hp might be a good bet, especially since laws around here say the new engine must not execed 40% of the original one's power i believe. And since It's a vw engine chances are to be fit legal.
  12. I'm assuming much more torque in normal driving and probably double the mpg? And lighter?
  13. Keep hearing a lot of good things about the new 1liter ecoboost engine from ford, even went on a road trip with a focus recently and it ran great, too bad their cars suck interior design wise. Anyway I was thinking how awesome would it be to have it on a Lupo. Light body + 1L turbocharged would make a great mpg pocket rocket + nice torque don't you think? I wonder if anyone has ever tried such a conversion. If possible I'm definitely thinking about this is the future.
  14. Hi clublupo. Just bought a 1.4 75ps Lupo last month which I am very proud of. I'm planning on doing a few mods on the interior in the upcoming weeks so I need some advice. I really like the interior design of the lupo but there are two main design elements which I dislike. First is the rediculously low and long travel gear leaver. I prefer a short and risen gear leaver and unfortunately lupo's exactly the opposite. Is it possible to rise the gear mechanism and shorten the leaver? I'm not sure mine is cable based, haven't checked that yet. Then is the central dash. Don't get me wrong, I really like the design but I don't find it that practical in my case. The golf mk4's one is pretty much ideal for me. So here comes the bombshell: will a golf mk4 dashboard fit in a lupo?
