  1. Hey, looking for some advice. After a long drive last week the clutch on the Lupo started to fail, the release bearing was very noisy and struggled to go into 1st and 2nd, it was then parked up and new parts ordered (probably drove around 5 miles in this condition to get it home). Ordered a new LUK clutch kit and got to work replacing it. So, removed the gearbox and replaced release bearing, clutch and pressure plate...bolted everything back together, dropped the gearbox oil and replaced it and fired the car up. Problem is, there's still a squealing noise coming from either the clutch or box, before the clutch started to die it ran silently, the noise is present when the car is in neutral and in gear, it only goes away whilst the clutch is depressed. If i hadn't just replaced everything i would say the noise was the realease bearing, it goes away when the clutch is pressed and selects gears with ease. So my question is....do you rekon I've been mega unlucky and the new release bearing is also ****ed? or is it more likely that some other bearing has died? Any input welcome, Ta.
  2. One of these? I've tested with this harness, it does the same thing :/ If the rule of swapping red and yellow stands though, that would mean i'd need to swtich the thick red and red/brown right?
  3. Alright guys. Looking for a little bit of help, fitting an after market stereo and having a bit of trouble. The stereo comes on as soon as it's plugged in (all the lights on it are on but you can't actually turn it on to use it). When you turn the ignition on it then turns on fully but when you take the key back out the light all stay on (i've tried leaving it 5 minutes or so but they do not go off!) I've tested the stereo in another car and it doesn't do this. Here's a picture of the wiring diagram on the top of the stereo: And here's the wires on the power plug: Can anyone tell me which i need to switch around? Thanks.
  4. Hi! Looking for some suggestions here. I've got a 1l lupo and the gear stick is very stiff! There's no crunching from the box at all when you actually put it into gear and it drives perfectly fine. It feels as though it's the gear leaver itself that's really stiff! We've had the shroud off the gearstick and lubed it all up to no avail. When under the car the gears can be selected easily on the box itself. The car was stood for a while before i bought it so i wonder if something has rusted up. We've lubed up everything that you can see from underneath but it's made no difference, the car has also done over 1k miles like this but shows no sign of loosing up. Do i need a new gear linkage? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
  5. New to all this, just having a nosey round
