Ok done now ........ made a pipe out of some spare in dads garage that was the same diameter , Revs have dropped now to a normal rate and running sweeter than before Job done

My exhaust is blowing and have been quoted 118 pounds to replace does that sound ok ?

It's a rubber pipe with a bend that goes to the carb

Can anyone please help me out here ? I need a name of the part or a part number so i can get it sorted asap ?

Can anyone here help ? Managed to get the lower one from a local lupo breaking , it's the other one i need the one to the carb ? this lupo that was being broken for spares had no EGR valve and was blocked off so didn't have the pipe i needed Anyone help me sourcing the part number ?

So the Lupo is over revving and i can hear a hissing sound Take off the engine cover and find two pipes with major splits in , Can anyone post up a parts diagram ? So i can find the vw part numbers ? thanks in advance

Right fixed the EPC took the above advice checked the fuse .... was ok .... then lubricated the switch and manualy moved it in and out and now brake lights work and EPC has gone out .... Drove it for a few miles and guess what ? yep the check engine light is back on again ( not the EPC ) ....... taking it back to our friend to see if it's the same code it threw up last time , he reckons its the temp sensor doing our heads in this ...

Hoping fixing this switch is finally the end to the dreaded lights on the dash lol

well we just cleared the error and a friend who has owned VWs for years reckons the temp sensor ( i think that's what he said hang on I'll ask him ) could be at fault , ( according to the laptop ) someone has replaced it in the past he said it has a green one in it so it has been replaced but it's not genuine VW , he says the cheaper ebay ones tend to be rubbish as he has found out ..... He's cleared the error, as he said as it's been replaced they might not have cleared the codes so been told to drive it and see if the light comes on againthen re scan and see if it throws the same codes up When we got home the EPC light has come on now ....... Just checked and yes the brake lights are not working !!!!!

no it just plays the radio or cd then a loud crack ......... sound goes off ...... everything still working lights cd etc ..... switch on and off lights off then lights up still no sound , leave it ten mins or so and sometimes when switching on it works again for a short while and repeats the process !!! Got a spare stereo but looks a daunting task getting this OEM one out ? has an oem cd player too

It's running lovely though !!! i don't get it ........ having a nosey through last MOT and advisory was the light being on ...... so guy cleared it it before he sold it me .... Find out friday when we do a full scan he scanned my boyfriends newbeetle and sorted a few faults on that so fingers crossed ...... noticed it failed on emissions then passed second time ..... got to be an exhaust fault ..... thanks for the advice may get a cable for the laptop as i have an iphone

Can anyone explain why the radio/cd in my car just cuts off ( big crack and then no sound ) but is still all lit up ? had the drivers doorcard off and speaker is connected ok ?

Ok so the 'so called mechanic' said the fault was the egr valve ..... and then breaks it trying to seperate it ......so end up buying a replacement ...... light goes off and hey presto after driving a few miles it's on again Really beginning to lose patience with this car Am i best using Vag.com as a friend has it, to check for more faults ?

Well it came on after a long trip to Blackpool when i put it in reverse to park up ??? got in today and it has gone out ...strange

well they didn't seem too bothered that both snapped and promised to refund straight away and didn't want the parts back .... Had to do away with the spring as it gave too much tension preventing the locking tabs to hold the paddle stiff done away with the broken locking ring too and used a circlip which seems to have done the job Everything works

all done ...had to improvise Done away with the spring as it was causing the whole thing to spin on the paddle ( too much tension ) hence it not working used a circlip and done away with the locking ring too ..... All works fine now can live without the key springing back to centre position ....... nightmare job finished Key doesn't spring back to middle but hey I can live with it and the circlip I used is better than the stupid cheap rings in the kit ..... much stronger ....at least the car locks that's the main thing .... Thanks to all who helped

Do not use nonstopauto on Ebay for these kits Absolutely rubbish repro crap that isn't worth bothering with both locking rings snapped due to them being made of the cheapest thinnest metal known to man steer clear

UPDATE ..... shut the door removed barrel and screwdriver works the doorpull up and down Its as though the paddle isn't reaching the slot ..... I think it is the the brass coloured locking wing it had an hairline crack and now snapped this must be preventing the paddle from working correctly ....that's two broke from the same seller

update ...... shut the door and with barrel out the screwdriver engages the doorpull up and down so i know its working its as though the paddle that inserts into the plastic slot isn' t reaching im getting somewhere at last

Right attempting to take the barrel out again .... this brass plate can you confirm where it is ? all i can see in the door is a plastic slot for the paddle to go in ? am i missing something here ? better still i'll take a pic

But the door pull works fine ? would this above affect the barrel not engaging the door mechanism ? Door opens and closes fine ? the paddle is reaching and entering the plastic slot but not turning enough to make the doorpull engage and disengage ? opening from the handle inside is fine too ? I don't think it has anything to do with this handle to be honest and don't want to mess with that if it's working fine ....

And the lights and third brake light are ok by the way just checked

thanks but at the moment the doorpin is the least of my problems ....this car is driving me nuts Will attempt when i find out off the scan what the EPC light . engine management light is ....and fix this stupid doorlock !!
