Just tried to change the main beam bulbs, the passenger side was fine and works. The drivers side, the clip that holds the bulb in place came out, i put it back in fine and fitted the new bulbs but for some reason that side doesn't work now? Any reason why?
Thanks

What did you use for correcting the paintwork? Looks a lot better!
I used a Das-6 pro with a chemicals guys yellow hexlogic pad combined with 3M fast cut plus. Then followed by chemical guys green hexlogic pad combined with Menzerna final finish. Great combination.

tidy looking GTi even nicer golf r32, real shitter about the engine mate
Cheers mate, yeah the R32 is my brothers. Lovely motor

What caused the engine failure?
Going to guess it burned off most of the oil in the 200 mile journey and seized
Im not sure what caused it, the first thing i noticed when i lifted the bonnet was that there was no coolant. It went through the engine and came out of the exhaust

Yeah i have read a few ways to do it, will try sort it the weekend
Cheers buddy, spent about 8 hours on it yesterday but only half way through!

So whilst i couldn't drive the car the first thing i wanted to do was get in my garage and inspect the paint. I was shocked to be honest, i didnt realise people could clean there car so badly. It looked like it had been cleaned with sand paper!
So i prepped it, ready to be machine polished.
Also, fitted some LED sidelights, LED number plate bulbs. Red strip round the grill and De-wipered the rear.
Yeah terrible luck! It is standard exhaust, its just hanging too low which i need to sort. Thanks for commentBlown engine @ 64k, unlucky! Looks nice though. That exhaust isn't standard is it?

Get the person you bought it from to repair it, or was it a private sale? I'd personally never buy from a private seller, only dealers for me so worth the extra grand or so for the peice of mind
Yeah it was private unfortunately, but i have an engine sorted now

I have already fallen in love with it, even without an engine hahaBad news. Hope you find a good engine and fall in love with it.

This wasn't the one that was in Smethwick was it? It was pulled from ebay yesterday - you beat me to it if so!
What exactly went wrong with the engine, do you know? Is is rebuildable?
Cheers
Rob
Yes it is the one, bet your glad you didnt buy it! Not 100% sure what happened but a spark plug has been completed torn to pieces. Not rebuildable so on the look out for another GTI engine.

Now, I have a Gti engine that don't laugh I'm thinking of putting a diesel into. What will fit? It's it's easy you can have my Gti engine. You can see it running, runs perfect.
Im not really sure what you mean?

Welcome it was sounding good until it blew up! That must be upsetting. Good luck in your search
Yeah it was all perfect, it drove 198 miles home absolutely perfect!

Hello everyone, after looking for a Lupo GTI for about 4 months i finally found one. It is a 2002 Red GTI, 64k miles, Full service history. All sounds good doesn't it? I drove 200 miles to get it, on the way home about 2 miles away. The engine blew up, i had my mate who is a mechanic at bentley look at it and he said the whole engine has had it! Bad luck or what?
So i am on the look out for a GTI engine now, if anyone knows of one for sale please let me know.
Thanks
