Don't suppose any of you know the length of the aero blades on the Lupo (in cms). We are looking to use aero's on the Leon and have discounted the Golf and Passat ones as they are too long and require cutting down. Looking for a straight swapover.

Thanks for that guys, I'll keep my eyes wide open. I've always missed my old Lupo so wanted another one back in the family ASAP - even if the Missus takes care of it! My PAS was horribly light in the Sport 16V, is the GTi any weightier? Have any of you driven a Polo GTi as a comparative? I am kind of arsed off about the Lupo boot as Ive got a sub and amp to go in it. The Polo had climate control as std + bigger boot, but an awful interior and 5 spd box. I just hope I can live with the lack of boot space! Missus is still arguing for a Ibiza 1.9TDi PD 130bhp but I am resisting.

Hi all, looking for some of your expertise to help me ensure I get a decent GTi in the next couple of weeks. Could you help me with the following questions: 1) Is there anything I should check specifically when looking at 2nd hand Lupo GTi's? 2) Would you recommend 6 speed over 5 speed? 3) Do they all have aluminium bonnets, arches etc? (I have noticed the kerbside weight has gone up since 2001 when I first looked at one) 4) Silver or raven blue? I'm trading in the missus car (Ibiza 1.2S style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":lol:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> ), and am looking at a car from a VAG stealer with <30k miles BUT with air con circa £10,500. Too many are £13k+! Looking forward to getting one as the Polo GTi I looked at the other night was `so-so`. Nowt else seems to come close Many thanks for your advice cheers Warren

After only ever owning VW's since passing my test in '95 (5 of them), I finally conceded ownership of VW's after: 1) A VW dealer forgetting to service my car when it was booked in and on site (Lupo) - they professed they couldnt find it! :x 2) Car had an attempted break in following repair work whilst on garage forecourt(Lupo) style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":evil:" border="0" alt="evil.gif" /> 3) I went back to buy an R32 Golf in Motorworld Oxford and was completely ignored even though I stood around/in the car for half an hour. Instead they tried to sell an elderly lady a Polo 1.2S and when they failed returned to their coffee. I am 30 and not a bloody chav so this was the final straw in the VW legacy. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":clap:" border="0" alt="clap.gif" /> Hence the SEAT - a VW in cheap clothing - less expectation!!!
