I had two lads give me the thumbs up in a tidy astra earlier, when I parked up we had a chat and a bit of banter. Just because they don't drive a VW or something 'Euro' doesn't make them a different breed!

Cant beat an adrenaline rush
1/4 mile days i still get the shakey foot on the start line though
haha. I've lost all that shakey foot after 100+ runs.
The buzz simply isn't the same though.
I wish it was like America where every weekend you could drag race safely.

Got a mate in court soon on a similar charge. He overtook an unmarked car at 3 figures racing another car. No video evidence just the word of the officers. He's expecting the worst like, but don't think he's expecting it as bad as you.
I came within a badgers pube of having my car seized last night for my driving, and after reading this I'm beginning to think it's time to slow down. Reading your story hits home way more than what any traffic cop is going to tell you.

Do the sdi's run on veg oil or is it just pd engines that can't?
To be honest I've been looking at small petrol cars, mpg is slightly less but saving hundreds on insurance over a tdi. Pretty crucial on a cheap 2nd car.

Mk3 golf tdi, get a gl, then you get air con, leccy everything, etc.
On the plus side they aren't a pd engine so ridiculously cheap to run and fix. You can also run them on veg oil. They aren't fast but if you're used to a Lupo you won't find it slow.
I'm going to be buying another one in the next few weeks, just watch out for rust, Mk3's love to rot! I had one few years ago and loved it. Very cheap motoring! Only a mk3 polo 1.0 compared but the golf is nicer inside.

wtf, shoes! thats gash. i have black leathery shoe trainers, they not even good enough?
to be fair i went out in chesterfield before over a weekend and they wouldn't let people in without shoes. next day i went and got a pair of 4 quid shoes from shoe zone... no problem! still got the shoes as well, for 4 quid, bargain!

Well I put my money where my mouth is...
Bought a mk3 tdi last week. Air con, electric everything, heated leather, dropped on p-slots, but unfortunately it's matt black. Failed it's mot on a ball joint and a small bit of welding. Car cost £300 and needs maybe £70 worth of work... Laughing
