  1. Selling my schmidt Th-lines, they are 14x8 et18 all round, come with nearly new falkens tyres worth around £300 alone.

These wheels have gloss black powder coated centres and barrels, and chrome powdered lips, when I built them I put all new bolts on and shortened bbs valves as well.

They are not in perfect condition, a couple light kerb marks, on powder coat only not on the wheels themselves

    Looking for around £700
Located in Fife, Scotland but willing to courier them at buyers expense.

  2. I have a kenwood 4023BT, it's a really good double din headunit for the the money, has bluetooth, ipod connection etc and displays all the info on it, including cover art! you can go through playlists etc too, it came with everything i needed to fit it and works great, sits flush with the dash too so looks nice would recommend one, don't go for a cheap ebay job from a random make, though functional the sound quality and user interface is never as good, after installing the kenwood i don't even feel i need to upgrade the speakers as it makes them sound a lot better.

  3. Been having a few issues with my Lupo 1.4s (2001) and recently had the crank sensor changed

This has solved most of the issues, but now my speedo isn't working at all, it sits at 0 and my milage hasn't moved at all, i didn't drive far but it should have at least registered something.

the fuel gauge seems to be acting up slightly, only really when i go round corners it drops a fair bit, i know this will be normal cause it's going away from the pump, but it never used to do it.

rev counter & temp gauge still working fine.

used a diagnostic to check it, can't remember the code but it said something like 'Speed sensor A'

any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance

  4. yeh i uses the sticky stuff remover for the black stuff! worked well, better if it's warm tbh (use a hairdryer), spray it on and leave it a good 10-20 minutes to work in then just use an old microfibre or something to really rub away at it, when you're taking the other one off best thing to do it get some fishing wire or similar, sticky stuff remover & hair dryer and heat it up whilst the sticky stuff remover has been sprayed down the back of the strip its self, then use the wire pulling it along the car and the strip will just fall off, use it in a back & forth motion, make sure not to have it too near the cars paintwork though, pull along & out if that makes sense?

nice one buddy! you'll notice a huge difference as soon as it's done!

  5. Firstly, congrats on getting a lupo and welcome to the club ;) very nice clean car - always a good place to start!

i have no idea what they mean by 're-enforced bolts' but i certainly haven't changed anything other than my suspension and camber when lowering my car (only needed camber as i run 8j et18 all round)

also, when you removed the bump strips petrol isn't the best as it can wear the paint away, it shouldn't do that really but i can, i used 'sticky stuff remover' you get it from B&Q etc. in a yellow can, buy that one, not the liquid one, it works pretty well with a bit of elbow grease! i'd use it for removing the rear badges anyway, but keep your front and rear VW badge on!

another thing i would recommend is a front towing eye cover! took me a while to get one but raking round scrappies proved to be the best way!

  7. Having a bit of bother with my 1.4 16v lupo (75bhp model, engine code AUA)

the timing belt snapped on the old engine so we've not just changed it to a new block, replaced the clutch and timing belt as well

but the car is now running like a bag of nails, with quite a misfire that means any time i stop or even downshift the car dies, unless i heel-toe it to keep the revs up, it's also ticking over at between 700-800 rpm

the engine management light is on and i've checked it with my dash-comm app, as i don't have a vagcom, and it's coming up P0322 - Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit No Signal, but i don't think this is related to the misfire

that code came up with the old engine in too so we replaced the crank sensor as most people said it was that, so it's a new sensor too

plugs are new and all seem to be sparking when checked, also tried pulling out leads whilst engine running and it seemed that they all made it worse, think i might change the leads anyway though

anyone know what this might be? coil pack maybe? or maybe something to do with the EGR?

    help appreciated

    Thanks, Mike
