  1. Great thanks, will take you up on that offer.... Adrian
  2. No it seemed to run fine. Car just home with invoice: CHECKED EMMISIONS WARING LIGHT. CLEANED EGR VALVE AND THROTTLE VALVE. TESTED.ALL MEMORY FAULTS ERASED. ROADTESTED.
  3. Ouch, £600 for the lead and free software? dont suppose there is a wireing diagram for the lead? I guess its been cleaned, but the wife is not home yet. She was rather upset when she phoned to tell me. I think more so due to having no options other than pay up. Least now I know an independant VW can do it
  4. Yea that was my thoughts at the price... It was 45 mins to read the code take throttle body off, then they phoned with two options, 1. put the throttle back on as is for 15 mins, or have it cleaned and put back on for 60 mins. Then when the wife went to pay the total was £168, and there is no guarantee that has fixed is because no new parts have been fitted I'm just north of Aberdeen so I guess probably too far north, thanks anyway Can the software/lead for the laptop be bought downloaded? I can see lots of fault code readers on ebay, but would they work on a 2000 lupo?
  5. Hi guys, My wifes lupo was at the garage today following the engine light comming on. Apparenly it needed the throttle body cleaned, and all for the sum of £168. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="mad.gif" /> Its a 2000 on an X, and apparenly only a VW dealer can read/reset the codes. Something to do with legislation that cam in in 2001. Is this true? or is there a code reader I could buy? Thanks in advance... Might be time to upgrade her to the GTI
