  1. I dont know/care what mcdonalds pay, its an aprentaship, so the money is an extra. The minimum wage for a 16 year old is around £3.30, not sure exactly how much.
  2. Right, so insurance is gunna be huge. Oh well, Atleast i'll have transport. I can still buy the mods, and keep them untill the insurance with be affordable. Being minimum wage for my age is around £3 and hour, thats around £100 a week, i dont cost £100 a week, saving for mods will be a breeze, seeing as all i spend money on is gigs... £5er a week... sorted. Cheers for all the help guys, i'll be staying on the forums, increasing my car knowlage etc, so see you around.
  3. I meant a skyline R34, being 'the car to mod'. I dont know sheldon. By not declaring, i meant, getting it insured as stock, then modding it. Even if its just alloys. Does modding void current insurance then?
  4. What if i dont declare mods? Whats the conciquiences?
  5. Cheers for the info guys. I reckon i'll probs leave the body kit, just go with rims and an exhaust. Probably an induction kit later on. I'm soon to be starting a motor mechanic apprenteship with Merc, so anything that needs doing service/MOT wise, i can get cheap/do myself. The insurance is WAY expensive, my nan did mention putting me as a named driver, but it still being in her name. I didn't actualy know you had to have extra insurance for a modded car, just out of intrest, how much would insurance be for a fully modded R34 or something?
  6. Thats true, Whats the best site for lupo mods? I've found Edworthys the best so far...
  7. I missed out that i will be getting a full exhaust system aswell. I'm not gunna go out ragging it etc, so should be able to hold my NCB. Insurance is in the 1500 quid a year range, but thats not too bad for a learner. I cant find any rims i like in 15 though style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />. I'm not sure if i'll be lowering it. So the fact its auto doesn't really matter then?
  8. Hey guys. I'm 17 next june, and am getting my nans 1999 1.4 Lupo.. i think its 16v, but, its automatic. Is this a big problem for tuning etc? Its only got 21,000 miles on it, which isn't bad for 7 years. The first thing i want to do with it is stick some nice rims on it, nothing over the top, but its running standerd non alloys atm, which isn't good. I'm not sure weather to go with 16 or 17 though, i've heard 16 is good for a little lowering, and 17 is good if you just want to stick a kit on it and not lower it.I'm not sure if i want to lower it yet, due to me being well built, and my whole town being full of speed bumps. What do you guys reckon would be the best size rims? I'm also thinking of fitting an induction kit to it stock, is this a good idea just to get a little extra power of out it? What else do you guys think i should do as the first few mods. I'll be fitting a body kit, but not straight away. Cheers guys.
