I really don't know. Urs the 100bhp? Centre exhuast Know AFK is the sport. Need advice from the vw experts

Really need help / advice I have a lupo sport with the 1.4 16v AFK engine While on way to the vw event in Southsea traveling at 60mph the upper cam belt failed losing half of the teeth. I had the car recovered back home but now not 100% what's best to do. I have fitted a new upper cam belt to test if any damage and there's no compression to fire. I will test it with my compression tool propley tonight. If theres damage I'm guessing it's most likely to be the values and maybe piston. What I want to know is what's my best plan? Rip old engine out and put in a newer lupo sport engine AUB ? Try rebuilding my current engine Find a AFK engine and risk it's ok? Or is there any simple ish alternatives ? Some people say fitting a gti engine out of a lupo maybe easier then a AUB ? I am not up to speed with the differences between to 2 lupo sports engines AFK / AUB. Any advice ?

Cheers for that Yeah would expect a lot of wheel slip I guess. Iv got my own garage. But never taken on a big project like an engine swap other then direct swap ones. Would like to get my lupo over 150 / 200 bhp and keep it nice and light But try and keep outgoing low by doing a lot myself.

Ok Iv looked at all the engine conversations on the thread. Most are 1.8t. Which makes a lot of sence to do. But what are they like to drive after its been done? Are they very front heavy? Handling ok? I would love to do this to my lupo but also want to keep it light with a nice weight distribution A few alternative ideas others have mentioned to me are :- Fit a full bike engine - either keep as front wheel drive. Or rear mount the engine and make rear wheel drive. Or look at other small engines with turbos rather then 1.8t. Some thing like a r5 gtt engine. Still 1.4 but turbo'd I may get a lot of backlash as not vag etc. but ideas people have given me and just seeing if any ones done this before or similar

Help please I have a W reg 1.4 16v sport 100bhp with the AFK engine. I'm slowly trying to get the car tidy. I have a gti spoiler so far and a debadge grill. About to the weld up the half circle left behind on the bonnet. Really need help on coilovers and exhuast Do I decat? And which exhaust would not sound to loud but improve performance? And is the gti exhuast the same fit as the sport? Coilovers wise are cheap ones any good? Or the more expensive ones worth the extra money? I know these are covered a few times but most posts are either older or never give a full awnser just general feedback. Like to know from the guys that have them fitted Plus do the sport and gti both share same lower arms? Or does the gti have a wider stance Oh and if any one has any of the following At a good price let me know :- Exhuast system Coilovers Black internal door handles Black seats Gti rear bumper Decent euro look wheels

I just looked my lupo has a AFK engine Looking to do stuff to it. Buy most manifolds etc say fit AUB but AFK not listed. Would it fit? Also vw moved from AFK to AUD. How is the AUD different and is it better?

So sport has 256mm front disks with Lucas 54 calipers? Just thicker disks and pads? So will I just need to order the gti pads and disks. Not change calipers then?

This may sound a tad odd but when cold and moving my car made this bizarre noise Only way to discribe it is like an owl call sound Not sure if gear box. Or clutch?

Ordered polo gti calipers Lucas 54

Ok need help Looking to put bigger front brakes on my lupo My idea was simply put the gti front calipers on Are they Lucas 54? Same as on a polo gti? Seems others say about seat leon brakes etc Any ideas or input ?
