  1. thanks rich! thats what i like to hear!! you've been very helpful already anyway mate!
  2. yeh its how i felt, but i never called him anything, or blamed it directly on him style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="confused.gif" />
  3. must have been IHI'd or similar then to be running that power
  4. 1st ones are keskin kt1's 7.5x16 shown in the pic, but the other two i have are 9's, so id have to swap them for 7.5's, not sure what i want to go for, 16" are going to fill the archs too much and its going to have to be like a 4x4 to get a half decent ride. decisions decisions!
  5. having the lupo lowered sometimes this week, idea was to go low and wide, here are a couple of rims up against my car, but brock b5's are also in the running. let me know your views! border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" />
  6. im seriously considering keeping my sport for a while and 1.8T'ing it, depends on cost of shoe horning it in though, doesnt seem like there is anything readily available for the conversion. I remember seeing the venom one in the magazine's some years back and i wanted it then!
  7. yes i am, he did tell me that, thats why i was even more peeved that a gearbox that had done 2k miles since a full rebuild had given up! But people still dont seem to see that im not blaming him - he didnt do the work, im just pis*ed that i bought a car that was "good" that isnt! i think all that needs to be said in this thread has been said so lets leave it here
  8. no leak on the drive as i always check stuff like that, just had a new exhaust centre section put in as the other one was on its way out, Paid for the radio code to find that the speakers crackle and fuzz, took them out of the doors, connections are all fine so new speaker time now too. Of course i test drove it, but the noise didnt show, and it only shows now after about 5 minutes of driving. I still have never said "its bikerz fault he is a w*nker" (even though its how i feel!) its just disheartening to pay for a car that on the surface seemed decent to find alot of faults when i got it home. New centre section just cost £50 + 2 new clamps to join it to the original system at a cost of £14 and then an hours labour of £30 to fit it and weld up the other mounts. its all the little bills that add up!
  9. yeh, its a bit different when it happens to you, and your going to have a £500 bill, 10 weeks before you start uni, which iv had to have a gap year working to earn money to go to uni, now going to be £500 down. If you have nothing useful to say, please dont say anything, i think enough crap has come my way with a £500 let alone you telling me its tough crap.
  10. there is no receipt for any gearbox rebuild in the folder you gave me, been through it a few times. think ill just flog it on to an unexpecting forum user.
  11. dont think i ever had a go at him did i? but when i asked is the car all ok he said, yeh its all fine, had it serviced etc, when clearly it isnt. just abit annoying when you buy a car and have faith in the buyer and it turns out i need to spend quite a few quid on it to get it right. I always trusted buying cars off of forums as they are usually looked after to a really high standard and if the owner says the car is good its usually good, this is my first bad experience buying off a forum but i no know not to trust everyone! its going to cost over £500 to have everything put right.
  12. still got to pay to have the box removed, then send it off, wait a few weeks without a car then get it back and have it fitted again - and it might even still be f*cked as it seems they didnt do the job properly first time round. Powersteering pump is also leaking, exhaust mounts have broken at the front near the cat and at the back and the cetre section is about 1mm from rusting through, rear pads are basically metal and the radio code ISNT the last four digits of the chassis no. great.
  13. yeh just had it up on the ramp and thats the problem. Is it an expensive job to do bearings?
  14. just picked up my new Lupo sport today, bought it off Bikerz who had the gearbox rebuilt at a cost of £600. Took it for a test drive and it sounded ok. About 5 miles down the road, i start to realise that there is a whining noise in every gear, especially in 3rd and 4th, sounds worse when you let of the accelerator as you can hear it sort of winding down. So as you can imagine im not a happy chappy, just want to know - is this symptoms of a ****ed gearbox? i know sport gearbox's are prone to bloomin' but one with 36k on thats already been rebuilt - surely not? style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":angry2:" border="0" alt="angry.gif" /> style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":angry2:" border="0" alt="angry.gif" />
  15. fully comp, my policy, mum and dad as named drivers, £1350 voluntary excess. best £1360 iv ever spent! shame im off to uni this year and now have to have a 1.4 sport only gonna cost £500 to insure though so bit of a bonus.
  16. not a Lupo, but when i was 17 (about a week off being 18) i paid £1360 for a 1.8T mk3 cupra running 220bhp, that was with elepahnt and was the best quote by a long shot.
  17. hopefully picking up a lupo sport on sunday and been looking around what coilover are available, looking at the Jamex/vmaxx ones that are quite popular (like philj was selling) I need to know how low they will go as im gonna be getting a set of 14x7 and 14x8 rims, so want it to sit nice and low like this: border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> will they be able to sit this low, or will i have to modify them?
  18. hi, last year i was just about to buy a lupo GTi when a nice, ibiza cupra came up for sale, which i bought instead, had that for a while sold it, and bought a faster one, just sold that and need something cheaper to run/buy/tax/insure! after a sport this time in black, silver, red or blue, so anyone who has one pm me please! I hope im making the right decision buying a lupo.......
  19. looked pretty standard, apart from bieng slammed to the floor in standard rims, silver, anyone on here? in kings lynn, norfolk.
  20. Just want a few opinions from other mechanically knowledged people, will be getting a new car within the next few weeks, hopefully a lupo gti, iv been offered a wizards of nos nitrous kit, quite cheap, i know its all in good working order, want to fit it to the lupo which is quite easy as it is with any car, but do you think the engine will be able to take it, i would only fit a 35bhp jet to it (or would 50bhp be ok) and just to say its not something id use everyday, just for now and then like once a month, will the engine be able to take another 35bhp or even another 50bhp without damaging the engine, if it wont, what parts are likely to get damageed through use? thanks

    Bmc On Gti ?

think "high on dirt" did it aswell, check it out!
  22. hey, im going (definately) to be getting a lupo soon, and am planning in the future when i can save a bit more cash to put some leather seats in the front, iv found these: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/New-Recaro-Style-Lea...bayphotohosting i know there arent any measurements on there but can anyone roughly tell? I know that the subframes will need adjusting too, i can do this myself, just wanted to know if they look like they'll fit. Cheers
