hi there i have a Y reg lup gti it all started last week. my battery was draining over night so done some testing found the fuse for interior light was drawing 1.8amps so left that disconnected and been sweet. i have also been told it runs the ccm is that correct? whats that control? Then one day driving home all my warning lights come on in the clocks. so when i managed to get home i checked the battery and it was 17.5v so quickly turned it off. so went out and brought a new altonator. but now it dont charge with new altonatoronly getting 12.7v when running. i have cleaned up the connection on altonator and earth strap from engine to chassis. i noticed when i was removing earth strap in engine bay the two wires in a plug on the altonator are not connected just taped to the altonator loom. shouldnt they go to the dash for warning light?? i have now sent the altonator back and waiting for a new one. can anyone help me on this subject???
