  1. MOT passed with no problems!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Cheers. MOT on Thursday so fingers crossed, and I've managed to fix/repair/replace all of the little internal issues by myself for next to nothing.
  3. Thanks, Went to dealer and got some for free, plus some lightbulbs! Problem sorted!
  4. Cigarette lighter has stopped working. I've located the fuse box and worked out that I need a fuse, but can anyone tell me where to get one from? Can you get them from normal car shops? Thanks
  5. Looking for a grey window winder for an 02 vw lupo. Any ideas? I've put an ad in classifieds too but any help would be much appreciated! Ta!
  6. Fair comments, thanks. I wouldn't say it'll pass the MOT easily- you never know that till you have one. I just didn't really want to spend out on it if it's not going to be used. I've got a price in mind but not sure how to go about breaking it and then how you sell the parts after that.
  7. Got a yellow 1 litre lupo, 02 plate, 99,500 miles. Moved house and rarely use a car now so am wanting to sell. MOT due early next month and tax runs out at the end of this month. Few easy-fix problems listed below- Dint in back bumper Couple of paint marks from being scraped by a bus heater only works on full blast lights on the heater console don't work (fuse or bulb needed) Needs cambelt change Car had new clutch/gearbox about 18 months ago and new brake pads/discs about 3 months ago. It's got part service history and has only had 2 lady owners since new so its been driven well and not ragged about! I've got details of pretty much everything it's had done to it since I bought it and to my knowledge, it still runs very well. Question is, what price should I be asking for it? Someone in the know about cars who loves lupos would probably be able to do it up quite cheaply or use it for parts but as I'm not really willing to MOT it as I don't use it I don't really know what I should ask and weather I can sell something 'as seen' as I'm not really in the know about selling cars. I guess it's a gamble buying from a private buyer and that's just a risk you take? Any advice would be welcome. Im going to post it on the classfieds later with photos etc but also if anyone wants to make me a sensible offer on here that would be good. I'm in York. I guess it could also be good for parts if someone wanted it for that. Jodie
  8. Cheers guys, always good advice on here! I've had the big jobs done at the garage- don't have the luxury of knowing any mechanics close by! Hopefully gonna get the paint job and other small jobs done by my sisters boyfriend next time I go and visit her and I'll see what happens from there!
  9. ha ha right now I'd love it if I went outside and someone had stolen it or smashed it up!
  10. No idea! Just weighing up options. The deciding factor is that I can't afford to buy another car!
  11. I have no idea about cars or parts. I do trust the garage as I've been going there for ages and they've always been pretty good. Just starting to think it's stupid to be spending more than it's worth. On the other hand, if I get it done, I can sell in 6 months (as originally planned) with 6 months mot on it and get a bit more for it I suppose.
  12. VW Lupo has just failed MOT on front exhaust pipe (something to to with the catalytic converter) and possibly lambda sensor (tbc), suspension bush and some washers plus overheats due to fan being stuck. Quote for all the work- 500 quid-ish. Basically, I spent 700 on new gearbox and clutch back in April and now this 500 quid, its probably more than the car's worth. So I'm wondering whether to cut my losses and sell it without having the work done. Am sure that a lupo fan who knows a bit a bout mechanics could do the work for lots cheaper than what I've been quoted. It's only done 91,000 and apart from the clutch/gearbox has never had any major problems but i'm just fed up of spending on it now. What do people think? And does anyone want to buy it?!
  13. Thanks so much to everyone who has posted on this thread! As well as convincing me that my little car is worth fixing, I've managed to find a wing mirror cover which blew off in the wind and a new back bumper for 40 quid which I'm guessing will be a lot cheaper than removing the bump I've got in it and doing a respray!
  14. Nice one, cheers! This must have gone on ebay just as I'd finished scouring the site for one! Excellent!
