  1. Would have passed without adjusters but failed on a leaky centre box . Cheers dude didnt even think of them and I'm literally round the corner, ended up finding a garage on Thornton road near the dog track. cheers Paul
  2. Currently having trouble finding a garage that can get my Arosa on the rollers to test the brakes on the MOT . Anybody know of a tester near Chester that has a suitable set of rollers. Car is lowered on coilovers with the adjusters out at the rear but loads of adjustment at the front but cant seem to get it on without the ball joints bottoming out . Im lazy too and cant be hooped winding them up . cheers Paul
  3. Sorted out the annoying starter motor fault today ,well temporarily anyway !!! After removing half the engine to get to the starter the brass bush on the end of the drive has started to crumble which is causing the grinding noise. After being unsuccessful trying to source one eventually gave up and opted for a copious amount of copper slip instead and it works a treat . Just have to find the correct bush now and go through removing the intake manifold to change it again.
  4. The dreaded speed bumps finally got the better of my exhaust and ripped off the clamp between the cat and middle pipe the Corsa massive would have been impressed with the exhaust note ! Being low also means I can no longer get on my ramps so a quick trip to my local garage and a tenner later it was all fixed.. phew !!! Got a feeling its only a matter of time before the starter motor packs in as it's started to groan after starting ,removal looks like a b**tard so hoping it lasts to the weekend . Cheers Paul
  5. New roof rack for my dog Cheers Paul
  6. Better late than never !!! Finally got Wilma back on the road today , got the new pipe fitted but whilst trying to bleed the brakes one of the bleed nipples sheared aaahhhh!!!!! Resorted to bleeding it at the hose for now until I can get the old bleeder out seemed to do the trick as the brakes now feel sweet . Cheers Paul
  7. Ok so not perfect but not £30 either think I'll be getting a refund from the stealers tomorrow as I picked this up for a tenner Hopefully Wilma should be back on the road this week !! Cheers Paul
  8. New hardline £33 from the stealers unfortunately the only one available is in Germany and won't be here until at least next Tuesday ! I'm falling out of love with Wilma already ! Cheers Paul
  9. On closer inspection it's the hard line thats gone !! Just after the bend near the clip it's rotten from the inside . Cheers Paul
  10. Hmmm whilst out driving yesterday the handbrake light kept flashing on and off so pulled over and checked the fluid level to find it below min . Looks like the offside rear flexi has popped as it looks quite wet around the back of the drum so as soon as the rain stops I'll be getting my hands dirty again !!! Cheers Paul
  11. Just ordered some Eibach camber bolts !!
  12. Well after the boot and passenger side went far to well it was obvious something was going to go Pete Tong ! The drivers side appears to have had some paint in the past which is quite noticeable after taking the run strip off. Hopefully I can get it back in with a machine polisher otherwise l'll have to get the door sprayed . Cheers Paul
  13. After the first proper trip out in the Arosa around 300 miles yesterday I believe my Mk1 1.0 has come with a speed restrictor/warning as standard . Whilst approaching 70 mph on the M6 southbound I heard a loud thud hit the door warning obviously warning of the national speed limit . On reaching our destination it seems the bump strip on the door has folded in half !!! After popping the bump strip back on for our return journey the same thing happened at exactly the same speed whilst heading north . I believe the Mk2 Arosa has either been upgraded or has a secondary warning system as when one overtook me doing at least 80 mph the rubber/plastic strip on the roof pinged off ! Has anybody else experienced any speed related parts falling off their car ? Cheers Paul
  14. They look sweet but I reckon I'd have more hassle of the fun police (missus) than the law . Cheers Paul
  15. Not sure I'm Lowe enough for 165s and didn't realise you could get the 185 in a 45 profile , slightly better pic homebrew refurb but will be tidy enough for a daily .
  16. Even though Wilma tried her hardest to be stubborn eventually got the coilies finished today . Top tip if your planning on doing them buy new front strut and rear damper attachment bolts first !! I spent half the morning driving round Yorkshire trying to source some via VW , Audi and TPS in Leeds . I took a guess at where to put the front adjuster and as it stands I'm pretty happy with how it's sitting , I'll leave it a couple of days to settle then maybe have a tweak . And after all the graft fitting the suspension cut knuckles snapped sockets , chisels, hammers and hacksaws these arrived today ! Just need to get some tyres , I'm thinking 195 45s Cheers Paul
  17. Being slightly impatient set about fitting the coilies this afternoon and after 3 hrs plenty swear words and some grazed knuckles I've managed to get .......only one fitted . The front strut bolts and rear bolts are in need of replacing as are the bumpstops so hoping GSF or the stealers will have them in stock . Fingers crossed I can get it sorted to tomorrow . Cheers Paul
  18. Shiny bits arrived today !! Just need to find some time to fit them as I'm busy moving house next week . I've already cracked off the top mount nuts surprisingly easily but it's the lower attachment bolts on both front and tear that look a bit crusty so I've soaked them for the last couple of days in penetrating oil. I've got a set of APs on my Passat and to be fair these are definitely cheap an cheerful from JOM but hopefully theyll do the job ! helper springs are staying in for now but the rear adjusters have been binned already ! Cheers Paul
  19. Right then thats the coilies ordered , also ordered some new top mounts to make life easier and on the lookoiut for a bumpstop kit as the rears are battered. Hopefully I'll get them before the weekend and sort out some lows, also been offered some 15in,7J,Et 37 rims which Ive not seen on a lupo/arosa before so watch this space cheers Paul
