  1. Thanks for your thoughts and possible reason, Not burning any oil, level on dipstick remains same and still clean, one thing noticed last night in an enclosed street, warm outside so had windows open, got a whiff of the classic rotten egg smell, was told sometime this normally means cat converter not working ok. Reluctantly will be booking into local dealer in Scarborough let them plug it in see whats wrong.
  2. Anyone had these problems before, Have a 1.4 Sport 54k on clock, regularly serviced, has just decided to start exhausting, black smoke and soot, still performs ok and the mpg still ok for its runs around town and to work and back. On hard acceleration it is somewhat worse for a short while, then clears or I cannot see it in rear view mirror, but each journey results in a dirty rear end. Have checked usual ideas, air filter blocked, overfill with engine oil, all the obvious but still puzzled Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated, if you think it sounds expensive, answers on back of £5 note to help toward the costs. Thanks Mike
  3. Lime Green Arosa seen along Malton by Pass A64 heading toward Scarborough at approx 3.00pm today. Thanks for the wave alongside and the toot, would have raced you, but was turning off half mile down the road. From the Blue Lupo Sports.
  4. Have these fitted to my Loop, Matched color on the covers Jazz Blue, The kit supplied by Hella comes with reflectors that mount discreetly on the bumper, this to comply with regulations, Note that the Black Loop shown does not have them on. Look great as far as i am concerned. Will admit a bit pricey but worth it.
  5. Why the complaints of those good looking lights, Surely the only way Rainwater gets in, is through the Wiring harness aperture, cant be the lights as they are a sealed unit. I have fitted the Hella Lights, and used the appropriate rubber seals as sent. The unit itself is not a brilliant fit but certainly dont get rainwater into the back or boot area. Dont want to sound rude but have you fitted them correctly, Apologies in advance for any upset I may cause.
  6. Have had same problem, i have found that if i leave my Loop standing on the drive for a couple of days with handbrake applied, when I come to use it find that the rear brakes have usually stuck on. This more pronounced in the wet weather. After setting off they usually clear after a while, On first application tho, they sound awful. Checked them out and all ok.Have got 1.4 16 valve with discs all round. Gather they are prone to this problem.I dont worry got used to it now. Hope this helps you.
  7. Just ran an extra wire thru, the only draw back to them is that they do not have a built in reflector as the original lamps. You are supplied in the kit two smaller housings in black that you fit by drilling the lower part of your bumper and then fitting the reflector/lens which has a self adhesive backing, this to comply with the Road traffic act here in the UK. If your bumpers are already coloured would suggest getting these sprayed at the same time, mine are black on the lower half so I was ok with that.
  8. The lights in Question are Hella but are not available in the UK as a stock item. Mine have just taken me 6 weeks to arrive. I have just had them sprayed, the lamp housing that is in Jazz Blue Pearl same as the rest of the car. Just fitted them and they plug straight into the original wiring, giving you two rev lts, one fog, two brake lts which are in the middle of the LED side lt ring. Cost £125.00 + vat £45.00 paint job. Supplied by Andrew Page Ltd who are local to me but have depots all over the Uk. Hope this helps.
  9. If its any consolation my 16v does exactly the same on Startup, but found that keeping the Oil Level spot on reduces the problem. I found that if you allow the level to drop by a half Pint it increases the noise. Hope this helps.
  10. Thanks Putney Explains why the little devils refusedc to come out!!!!!
  11. Anyone out there that can tell me how to remove the Head Light Units on my Lupo, I wish to get behind them to carry out a modification, have removed the two screws but they still seem fixed elswhere, cannot see what is still holding them in. Help Appreciated.
