  1. what condition are they in? could you upload a photo?

will it fit a W reg (2000) sport?

i could be interested, i don't think the suspensions been change on my sport ever!!

i've done the research and they will fit. So if you could get a photo of the suspension uploaded onto here so i can see the condition of them that'd be great.

and one more question; how many miles has the kit done?

    thanks

  2. I've been on here a while now. I've asked the odd question and made the odd comment but the time has finally come to get my wagon on here. So, here it is...

and a pic of one of the wheels to go on...

They need a clean and a bit of a referb but thought i'd share the start of my build.

Once the wheels are cleaned up and ready to go on it's getting lowered, smoked headlamps, debaged grill, i want a bonnet bra but have heard they don't do your paint any favours so i'm going to matt black vinyl the bonnet to protect it and i have some patches of laquer peal which will get hidden under the wrap too - two birds one stone!

That'll be about it i think...for now anyway!

  3. i used to have a leon sport 180bhp and now i'm driving a lupo sport too so suffering with the same problem, i miss that turbo torque!!

tuning the lupo all depends on how much you want to spend and how good you are with a spanner. one thing i was looking at was supercharging; the cooper s supercharge is a bolt-in engine mod and doesn't look too difficult if you know what you're doing, i've had a breif look into it out of interest so don't quote me on fitting one...but i think all you need is the charger, a bracket to mount it on and a pulley to connect to the aux belt. fitting one will give 170bhp i know that much and thats alot in a one ton car!!

    hope this helps

  4. i have that problem sometimes, but i'm driving a sport so not sure if they're going to have the same setup. i don't think the lupo gear box is that hardy and seem to fail but that might just be on the sport.

if it were me, i'd crank it up and see if it makes a difference and if i was to un-do the nut i'd make sure the engine was supported before i did anything.

this prob hasn't helped at all has it...

  5. i'm only really going for the 16's as the guy i'm buying them off wants me to get him a tyre for his space saver wheel for the golf the wheels came off, which is going to cost £60-£70 quid, proper bargain for 4 alloys. but yeah 15's do look a bit better, ATS cups or BBS split rims off the Polo GTi would look nice but for the price i'm willing to go with 16's.

tyres are going to look like rubber bands painted on the wheels, 195/40 r16

i was thinking 30-40mm lowering? - can i drop it using springs and standard shocks or will that ride like a shopping trolley and knacker my shocks?

  6. put one of your folks on as a main driver, bump up the excess, and go fully comp - that's cheaper than any of the 3rd party quotes. £20,000 is a mental quote, the guy i bought my sport off of was only 17 and his was £3600. so you must be doing something wrong?

  7. Hi

I have a Lupo 1.4 16v sport and i'm looking to have a play and pretty it up a bit!

A guy at work is looking to get rid of some Golf 4motion wheels for cheap, I've looked into PCD adapters - 4x100 to 5x100(15mm spacer) and tyres - 185/55 R14 to 195/40 R16 to keep my speedo in check.

First off will 16s go on a non GTi? I've seen mixed threads on this, some say yes some no...

And i'm unsure of how much to lower it by once the wheels are on, if they fit. I'm not looking to slam it, I just want to get the wheels tight into the arches so the car doesn't look like its on 16" stilts!!

    any help would be great.

    cheers.

  8. hi all

I'm new to the forum and Lupo ownership, i used to own a Leon sport 20v turbo - 180bhp...the Lupo is soo much more fun!!

    Anyway, I've owned the car for a couple of weeks and a few problems have arisen;

front and rear discs & pads need replacing - can anybody tell me if the bolts holding the caliper mounting bracket on are reverse thread? Or is it just f!*king tight?

I also need an exhaust, down pipe and back box, does anyone know where i can get a back box from? the garage is struggling to find one and my bro, who works for VW has quoted £950!! But i think that's probably including cat which i don't need.

    Any help would be great.

    cheers
