  1. Thanks everybody, i love the wheels  must admit though they are alot shinier than i thought they would be! :shades:

EarNi - i do work for BMW, not a mechanic though, service adviser which always helps when i need any help with car!

Was thinking of going lower but quite like it as it is, the ride is excellent and it corners really good, got a shock when driving it home did expect a bit harder ride but when i went over a speed bump at just over 20mph i nearly s**t my self (still getting used to slowing down more!

So i pressume going lower will make it worse????

Have been told that i wont get the bang if i go for coilovers or new shocks so wont have to slow down as much but i dont really know what to do???

    What do you think?

  2. Hi all, just wanted to show you all the first change i've made to my loop, had plenty of ideas but this is the first thing i've actually done (apart from LED's in the side lights!).

Got Some Rota Cups (16x8) and lowered her by 30mm, next i want to tint the windows abit then get the audio sorted out! :shades:

Will get some better pictures eventually, i'm well pleased with wheels and the handling is better now on the lower springs!

    What do you think?

  3. Sorry its another tyre/alloy question....

I think i know the anwer is yes because i've looking on here for a good few hours reading everything i could find.

so i really just want a bit reasurance........

Will these fit on my GTI - Rota Cup 16x8” (PCD: 4x100 ET 35 ) On Toyo 215/40/16 without rubbing or any modifications needed?

    Also would you recommend lowering?

As i said i think the answer is yes to both but want to know what everyone thinks before parting with the cash!

    Cheers Darrell

  4. I got one of these armrest from ebay, the armrest is nice but saying its for the lupo would be a lie.

If you put the bracket on the right way and put it in place the bottom of the bracket goes to the floor and the armrest is on a level with the handbrake!!!! wacko.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="wacko.gif" />

If you put the bracket on the wrong way round and the left side on the right and right side on the left confused.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="confused.gif" /> the bracket is narrower and you can put it at either side of the handbrake inside the trim, which keeps it at a good armrest height but its hard to adjust seat back and fasten seatbelt!!!!!! angry.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":angry2:" border="0" alt="angry.gif" />

    In short dont bother! laugh.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

  5. Seen a Raven blue GTI on the ring road near sainsburys last week, wasnt in my car though, was it you?

Didn't know there were that many GTI's around Leeds mines 05 plate and i've had it from new and i've only seen two one being Will near kirkstall and the other being the Raven Blue GTI last week.

Should have a meet in Leeds

  6. Just had my N/S regulator replaced, thankfully under wty, dealers dont seem to like replacing them my gti has had about 4 new window seals before they admited the regulator was needed wacko.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="wacko.gif" />

When they finally replace it they twisted the window seal so another seal is now needed witch is now on back order!!!!

  7. That was me biggrin.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> , your right the cars Anthracite grey.

was sat in that que for about 30 mins after coming out of that junction, nightmare!! wacko.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="wacko.gif" />

  8. smile.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> Cheers guys car hasn't been in a accident, but if VW doors are harder to close than others (especially N/S) then that'll do for me! as for the rattle in the back it is intermitant so i'll put up with it! and as for the bonnet i'll take it to the dealer!

    Thanks again!

  9. Just a few little question on things that have been bothering me on my GTI confused.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="confused.gif" />

Does anyone else get rattling from the rear seats (sounds like the seatbelts tapping together but ive checked them) there leather if that makes any difference!

My bonnet sounds like its going to break when i close it, is this normal or does it need adjusting!

And last one i think my doors are out of line a bit cos they're hardish to close, is this normal?

i've read the post about lubricating the locks do you think that would help although the car is still in wty so i might take to the dealer!

Thanks, needed to ask cos you guys seem to know everything there is to know!!

  10. Got my GTI (05 plate) from wakefield, apparently it was the last GTI in anthracite gray they made its got full leather heated seats and air con, wanted a sun roof but never mind, i had 3 dealers searching for the spec i wanted and they all said that this one was the closest they could get!
