  1. My daughters 1.0 Arosa wouldnt start today at uni, was just turning over with no sign of firing up. RAC man got it going and his report was it had flooded! She then drove home and did a few other small journeys all seemed fine, went to start it a couple of hours ago but wouldnt start again and was just turning over. I tried starting it when I got home and it was just turning over, went and had my dinner and was going to take the battery out to charge it up overnight and have a look at it in the morning (battery is good just wanted it fully charged) but thought I would try starting it again and it fired up first time! Took it for a run and it cut out going down a hill and lost all power, had to dip the clutch and coast to a side street, turned everything off and then tried starting and once again started first time. When it is idling and I turn the radio & heater fan off I am sure I can hear a relay clicking and something else running which sounds like the heater fan on the first setting which I dont think was there before! Think it may be a fuel issue rather than electrical but open to all pointers for when I have a look in the morning. Thanks in advance
  2. Are you able to post? If so I will take a couple, dont need good tyres just wheels without any buckles.

    Heater blower

It was the resistor pack that had went, swapped it today and now have all 4 fan speeds, a lot easier job than changing the whole blower unit! Glad I checked on here first - thanks for the help
  4. Dont know why the pictures arent showing
  5. Yeah thats what the dealer says! Ignore my comment about the gap between the shelf and the seat back as I hadnt realised there were 2 upright positions for the seats so 1 problem is solved. But the shelf doesnt seem to fit flat meaning when the tailgate is shut there is a large gap where you can see into the boot through the window. I have added some photos to show whats going on maybe I am missing something but it just doesnt seem right. Any advice greatly appreciated!
  6. Are the parcel shelfs for Arosa Mk1 & Mk2 different? I just bought one advertised as suitable for 1997 - 2003 model but when I try to fit it to a 52 plate Arosa it doesnt fit! Shape & size appears to be OK but the pivot location points are in the wrong position which leaves a 2" gap between the shelf and the rear seat and sticks out too far to close the tailgate. I could probably bodge something up to relocate the pivot pins but as the seller appears to be a SEAT/VW dealer selling off old stock I would expect them to know they are different.

Sounds like it is the resistor that has gone, will have a look this weekend to see if I can find where it is.

    Heater blower

Picked up a 52 plate Arosa a couple of weeks ago, unfortunately the heater only operates on switch position 4! So I have the choice of OFF or ON full blast (must be a digital system ), I have just taken the switch unit out and checked it over and it all seems to work as it should. Therefore unless the fault is in the cabling which appears to be quite heavy duty I am thinking it is the blower unit which is at fault. Are there any other things to check and is there any guide to changing the blower unit, I assume it is right behind the dash and will involve a lot of swear words and losing skin from my knuckles!
  9. Message sent regarding the springs.
  10. If you would reconsider posting these, I would take them. Check out www.parcel2go.co.uk as a low cost & low hassle means of sending them.
  11. Just picked up a 52 plate Arosa 1.0 as a first car for my daughter! Really surprised how much fun it is to drive, got a few things to sort out on it as I want it spot on for when she passes her test so will be reading up on a few things here.
  12. Is the gear knob still available?
