Thank you mate, I'll have a quick look about. Ive took the shaft back to dub, they are going to get it replaced... and apologised profusely. Hopefully the next one will be a little better, e.g actually go more than 20 miles. Fingers crossed!

its not rubbing at all mate... pffft! i don't know whats occurring with it

right... apparently it hasn't chewed up the second shaft, its pushing the drive shaft through the joint housing of the gearbox. there is a gap behind the flange where it is attached to the gearbox, its allowing the driveshaft to push through into the gap and lose drive. is this a fault with the new shaft or is this a common thing, because i don't understand, am I making sense?? argh!

no mate, as far as I'm aware its not rubbing anything, surely you would be able to hear something like that. the price tag is well steep, but the only place I could find one was from dub dealers. GSF/Euro/Davmac/SAF even 24/7 spares couldn't help me. its got to be a faulty part surely...?

Pretty sure it wasn't hitting the chassis, surely would have heard something like that... Can you tell me where i can get one from? I've tried everywhere, the only place I could find one was from the dealers and they are a rip!

Hey all, Just wondering if anyone had any experiences with dicky driveshafts from VW for a Lupo GTi '03 I spent £489 on a offside driveshaft on friday, had it fitted on saturday, by saturday night it had chewed it up. Can anyone help, as I'm not too sure whats happening with it? It was a brand new genuine part. The car is very low and stiff, would that have any ill effects on the driveshaft? Cheers

... I'm new to the forum, I'm currently in the process of buying one of these be-loved machines. I just need a few pointers and a little guidance please! What are the little/main things that I have to look out for when I'm buying a lupo gti? I have got one in mind that I am very serious about, its currently up on ebay and on the trader. Is this car worth it, would I be wasting my money, are there better alternatives? Help me please!!! Much love
