Im only 18 and i managed it no probs so im sure you will be fine. Dave

  13. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vw-Polo-Lupo-Dealer-...1QQcmdZViewItem this one
  14. no its the digital manual that VW use i bought it off ebay. its really good covers everything you can think of. Dave
  15. right your gonna need 8 point bits in a few sizes i cnt remeber exactly what sizes, your drive shafts have these bolts and some bolts inside the gearbox use these 8 point screwz. I used a trolley jack and fabricated a beam to support the engine whilst lowring it but u could probably get away with a good reliable trolley jack. You will need various sizes of spanners, sockets 1/4, 3/8, 1/2 drive. At the moment i think thats about it but if i think of anything else i will tell ya. If you send me an envelope with two blank dvd's and a postage payed envelope for the weight of the two blank dvd's i will send you the full VW lupo digital manual since im so nice lol.
  16. you might be able to fix it without removing the box but i reckon its a removal job. Dave
  17. that was building the box back up too mind you so would prob take an hour less if you were just fitting the repaired box no it took me 5 hours on tuesday night to disconnet all wiring, drive shafts, remove starter motor, diconnect exhaust at manifold, remove gear linkage and vaious other things it was prepped to be dropped on tuesday night and was dropped out after a few hours on wed morn.
  18. i started it after my work so say about 6 and worked till about 11 ish, the next morning i had the gearbox out within a few hours it dont take that long to be honest. A garage will charge you alot to remove, repair and refit your gearbox. to fit it back in it took me from about 11am till about 7pm so not that long.
  19. i recently removed my gearbox, it aint 2 hard i had 2 partially strip my gearbox if you follow the manual you cant go wrong. Dave
  20. we may never kno lol you came up with any solutions from looking at the manual? Dave
  21. thats the manual sent, ohh my god = OMG, Dave
  22. PM me your email addy and i will send ya the dismantling and assemblin manual for the gearbox. Its copy and pasted onto word so it aint the best but it will give ya an idea. Dave
  23. im starting to think tht, those bolts are only removed when the gearbox is getting stripped to a bare shell by the looks of things
  24. those screws are reverse gear securing bolts! ill c if there is anyway of fixin this. Dave
  25. i see where you are now, i will try and find out wat is up with it, Dave
