In a silver Golf GTI now, bog standard for the minute, should have my private plates on by the time I get back to uni!
-
Sure I saw the white one in Leamington a couple of weeks ago, up by sainsburys. Hadn't seen on it here before, so didn't put a spotted up, probably should of now!
-
Unfortunatley not as Lupo, but a GTI all the same.
Picked it up at the weekend, but only got the Autotrader pics atm:
So it is:
2000 Golf GTI
1.8T (150 hp, ARZ engine)
Full Recaro cloth interior
Clicked up 65,000 miles on the way back from picking it up
1 Previous owner
Completley standard
6 Disk changer
Unfortunately, good old VW build quality kicked in last night, and now im getting a hestitation around 4k rpm (supposedly MAF sensor on its way) and a squeak which I've been told is the clutch on the Aircon!
But for now im enjoying the comfort of the recaros and the quietness of a standard exhaust.
Plans are probably a CAI and Remap, Alloys and maybe coilies, just don't want to sacrifice the comfort, but need it lower!

Baaa-h Lols surely?
Funny, but blatantly not real!
-
Lol, I started on this again last night too, bit of a coincidence!
Reminded me how crap I was, got half way through my A-licence and won the Sunday cup in a 155hp lupo!
-
Dubweisers yeh? Was a sweet car indeed.
Yep!

Just to add my 2p.
I'm looking for quotes atm, 20 yo, 3yrs NCB, looking at a '00 Golf GTI.
Adrian Flux, HIC & Brentacre are all within £30 of each other. (£740 - £770)
Brentacre offered free modified suspension, exhaust, alloy wheels, etc (whatever etc is??) cover included in the price! and where the cheapest of the 3.
Still looking around, but somehow, I don't think Ill beat that.
I remember from when I passed, the specialists where always stupidly high quotes, but once you have a few years NCB under your belt, there the only sensible ones. The cheapest quotes I get off price comparison websites is £1300 now.
One to look out for, which I haven't tried, and hadn't heard of until today is www.tiger.co.uk. You might want to give it a try.

Lol, nice edit!

- spoke to jimmy carr after one of his gigs
I made a complete arse of myself speaking to Jimmy Carr the first time I seen him, slightly tipsy! Met him twice now, and i'm friends with him on Facebook!
I met Richard Noble, the guy that's building the Bloodhound car to go to 1000mph, at the Autosport show this year.
I got a certificate off the guy that designed this after a work experiance with an engineering company:
So no, no claim to fame as such!

Bloody 'Eck, thats low miles!
Congrats mate, sure you'll enjoy it!

I just brought a loop for the MPG
bought
I got the best of both worlds when I sold the loop. Sold it to my brother with the specific instructions that when he came to sell it, he offered me it back first. Hopefully he'll keep it for a year or 2, until I've got space/money to keep it.
Thing is, now I've got to watch it get butchered

What a nutter! Quality!

To be honest, I don't think your going to get a conversion for that kind of money.
VR6 has been done, but consensus is its too heavy, and not that great for power. I've had a ride in it, and it was great fun, but I wasn't driving so cant give my opinion on that.
Polo GTI engine is probably going to be the cheapest conversion, but youve got to look at things like clutch and throttle body (fly by wire or cable, cable or hydaulic) if you can find an engine that matches what your cars got, it'll probably be alot easier and therefore cheaper.
-
Congrats dude, have fun spending more time at the petrol station than at home!
But just becareful!

Was on the clublupo stand at edition38 last year I think, there was a readers rides about it IIRC
-
These are the ones I was looking at originally, cant go the GTR one until the end of april though, so it would have to wait until summer.
When I've looked at Everyman before, its been 1 years full license and no age limit, but now in the banner it says over 25s, which is a bummer!
-
Has anybody done one? I can imagine a few have, but search function came out naa-daa!
Im owed a birthday prezzie of my dad from August, and been looking for one, preferably at either Oulton Park or Three Sisters during easter, or Mallory park after.
Anyone got any companies they can recommened, or ones to stay away from? The rally ones look like the best value for money, but I'd really like a single seater, or one of the single seater vs supercar ones.
-
Score! My mates got a 106, do you reckon there'll be many peugeot salesmen in the pit?
-
How the hell did you manage that? Lucky bugger!
Should be heading over for the first time this year, mates got a farmhouse not a million miles away! Cant wait!
-
When I get a crap degree and can't get a job, I'm suing Miniclip!
-
I'd bloody love this car, its stunning mate!
Recaros and ICE will be spot on!
-
Shocked by all the compliments.
You shouldn't be, its an amazing looking car. Interior is mint, will look awesome when the rears tied in.
-
Reminds me of R20 DUB, one of my favourite non-gtis. Love the red, but think a bit more to tie it all in, maybe rear badge if your not going smooth?

Sounds fantastic, even at those low revs. Can't wait until its running sweet and can be driven properly
