It's fiddly! But you got it, just try using a few small flatheads to unclip them kinda at the same time. It's only the clips holding it, nothing else! Hope that helps!

wat thread didyou use to sew the covers back together and wasit just a typicalhousehold sewing machine?
just normal cotton thread man, i cant be any more specific im afraid haha! and yeh, just as normal sewing machine, but probably did about half with the machine and half by hand just because i found it easier in places
-
ok so decided to give my wheels a refurb but need some ideas on colours?!
all ive come up with is anthracite but thinking this could be a bit boring and overly done already!
shopped it anyway to see what it would look like and i quite like it actually!
pleeease gimme some more ideas!
-
How hard was it to fit the rears? They look great.
Well, I'm not gonna lie, its not easy haha. The passenger side is easier, as the drivers side starts off as a 60:40 seat so takes more time and more sewing! They're still not perfect but I'm happy with them
-
ok so at last after saying for ages I wanted mk4 recaros, I actually found some that are in good condition and not too much of a mission away! paid £120 for the set, which i dont think is too bad at all!
Anyway, here they are, after attacking them with a sewing machine over the last couple of days
-
looking good man! does it drive much different now youve taken the arb off?

drivers side vent - first you have to take the light controls out. what you have to do is push the knob in and turn it to the right, this will unclip it and it just pulls out and unplugs. directly behind, theres a torx screw, undo this and the vent should come out.
passenger side vent - pry the vent out with a small flathead.
centre pieces - take your headunit out along with the cubby hole or cup holders or whatever you have in the gap. then, theres a torx screw right at the back in the middle, and one in each side. once youve undone all 3, the first bit will pull right out.
the windscreen vent piece is plastic welded in and you have to break these welds to get it out. just get a screw driver underneath and pry it off and they will break. piece then just lifts off. dont be afraid when your taking that bit off though, feels like youre breakig things, but dont worry, you have to!
hope this helps!
