  1. Because there isn't a best brand. It's all to do with the car, the acoustics, what's powering them, how they are installed, budget etc there is alot of factors. And it's not necessarily a set of speakers a mid from one brand may work better with a tweeter from another
  2. As above, after some coilovers for my 1.4s on a tight budget really so Ta tecknix, philj etc preffered. Also interested in a Stubby mirror for drivers side really only after silver though (will update with exact paint code tomorrow) as would prefer too avoid painting. Let me know what you have Thanks x
  3. Is it coilovers or springs? Thanks x
  4. Got some purple hockenheim sytle alloys with tyres: http://forums.clublupo.co.uk/index.php?app=core&module=search&do=user_activity&mid=17403
  5. Rudaz on here bought them originally so he may be able to advise on where to get some?
  6. Thanks for the advice gunna get some spacers made up and the guy does set of 4 5mm for a tenner, I know 2 will fit so can test fit the others and if they don't fit it's not a great loss really. Will report how it goes. Thanks x
  7. Instead of starting new thread thought I would ask on here first, about to order some spacers and need some size recommendations. Am running 5mm on the front which sits perfect but back could do with coming out abit more. Will be lowered on coilovers soon so that needs to be taken into consideration running 15x7 ET35 with 195/45s Thanks x
  8. Because I'm pretty sure they are plastic so would need painting rather than polishing (will confirm later) after looking on other forums and doing abit of a search on here found out they are bbs reps rather than BSX's originally how they were before painting (from sellers thread):
  9. Looking to replace my painted center nuts and spikes with some original lenso polished silver nuts and lenso badges, I have contacted one dealer who is working on getting me a price but wondering if anyone knew any other places to try (possibly even had some laying around) or knew a rough price for these Thanks x Pics for comparison: Mine now: How I want them to be:
  10. Hahaha love the video, friends already called dibs on spikes lol trying to source replacement center caps (the silver plastic hexagonal bolt bit and lenso badge) hopefully have a price tomorrow unless someone has some they wanna part with? Thanks for the comments
  11. Realised I never did a thread for this. After owning my KA for just over a year it was finally time to go for a change to something decent, after seeing a silver GTI running purple wheels at castle combe I really wanted a lupo. Plan was to go for few small mods whilst keeping it practical as it's a daily driver. Picked up this 2002 1.4s cheap with low mileage and in good condition off of an elderly woman just used for shop runs. When I first got it: badges removed: Within first few weeks it had pressed plates and was derubbstripped (annoyingly took paint off one side, one mobile bodyshop screwed this right up and painted the door wrong shade of silver!) luckily my work has a bodyshop so they took it(FOC ) in and gave it a blast over also colour coded my bumpers while they were at it: This was how the mobile body shop left it after trying to blend it (as you can see completely different): Then fitted some hockenheim alloys that we bought cheap as they were an unfinished project of someone else, my boyfriend prepped them up and then we sent them to bodyshop to be painted a dark purple (looks much better in person): These were ok but after seeing a friends car running BSX's I went on the hunt for some with the intention of getting them painted purple along with the inner badge, when I came across Rudaz thread selling some purple BSX's with inner badge! So deal done these were on the way: Tyres fitted, had small clearance issue with the brake callipers but some 5mm spacers and longer bolts sorted that out also dewipered the rear Rear dewipered: Colour coded inner badge (difficult to see in the pic): New rims: How it currently sits: Rough mock up of how hoping it'll sit soon: Some of you may have noticed the spikes, these are being replaced as soon as we can source some as they stick out quite alot, the standard centers have a polished silver plastic nut with black badge which looks alot better, just in process of sourcing a set. Spec so far: -Colour coded bumpers -Derubstripped -Dewipered rear using glass bung -Lenso BSX alloys with purple centers and bolts -5mm spacers front and extended bolts -Colour coded inner front badge -K&N panel filter -Kenwood headunit Future plans: -Coliovers -Possibly rear spacers -Aero wipers -White light bulbs all round -Maybe few interior changes -Maybe bit more colour coding Thanks x
  12. Bump, these are sat gathering dust. Make me an offer
  13. No idea, front wheels were stiff to get on. Went to pull away and wheels were completely seized, took them back off and 2 marks on the backs of the wheels and the callipers, cleared everywhere else though.
  14. Went with 195/45s fit lovely only clearance issue was on the front, calliper caught back of wheel got some 5mm spacers and extended bolts though and it's all sorted now.
  15. Yeah but there is loads round here the one in entrance to trading estate where I work is horrible because the ground dips before too. No I meant which tyre size 165s or 195s but you just answered haha.
  16. Bickerton which size? Found few pics of lupos running 195/45 and seems to look ok. I take it you mean spacers to make them poke right out? If so no I won't be. Won't be slammed either but lowered to sit right, roads by me are potholed and loads of speedbumps so not practical.
  17. New wheels are being picked up from delivery depo tonight and hoping to get tyres and fitted this weekend. The wheels are 15x7 ET35 and after some help and abit of research seems most people run 165/50 (was originally gunna go 175/50 but advised they would probably rub the second it gets lowered) one concern I have after looking on willtheyfit and the gallery on here is how much stretch on them, I know some tyres look better than others (bridgestones seem to look the best) but I am worried about all the warnings of tyres coming off if you drive the car into a corner to quick? I do enjoy the odd bit of fast road use as it's primarily B roads on my way to work so will stretched be an issue? I have seen others with this size wheel running 195/45s but surely that would rub too? Don't really 100% tyre sizing Thanks x
  18. Fancy a bit of a change and could really do with something abit cheaper to run following house purchase. Am in no rush to sale this so please sensible offers only. Washed every other week (this is only a weekend car as I have a company van) has been well looked after regardless of cost. Bad points: -Small usual stone chips on the front -Wheels have usual curbing (for asking price I will get these refurbished) The car has few other small things that need doing just waiting on correct parts (had problems with parts supplier) but that should be sorted within the next 2 weeks. I will also have this detailed prior to sale and get some brand new mats. Pictures: Price: Car is based in Bristol, I am looking for £9500 cash ideally but am interested in a few part ex+ cash my way/straight swaps: -MK5 Golf GT 2.0TDI 4 motion -Mk5 Golf GT 2.0TDI DSG -9N3 Polo GTI -Lupo GTI 6 speed with following spec: -No high mileage (don't really want higher than mine) -No overly modified examples (subtle mods are fine but not looking for allout show car) -Black, Grey or white models ideally (although open to other colours) -3 door (although 5 door 4 motion considered) -Minimum of AC, electric windows/mirrors and remote central locking -Ideal spec (not necessity but preferred): Heated leather interior, Cruise control, multi function steering wheel.
