You will just burn oil like its going out of fashion. I suppose at some point it will have that much oil in the cylinders that it is unable to ignite the fuel.
Try an xW50 oil, see if that helps
Wont make the engine go bang then? As im debating on weather to buy my old car back and I know that was an issue with it I only want it for 6 months to get me to work and save for a lupo gti just dont want it going bang after a month

If you leave the valve stem seals and dont bother fixing the problem whats the worst that can happen? Aslong as you keep it topped up with oil

I really dont want it to go but If i spend money on fixing it its not worth it but for somebody else it could be a cheap car also im trying to save to move out so going to share a car

Needs a new gearbox

It has black BBS RA's alloys (not great condition) and is lowered on coilovers. Also has a custom exhaust.
The body work is is tidy condition for a W reg with no rust. Last march I had the roof rust taken out and repaired by vw and resprayed along with bumpers and bonnet.

Ok so last week I was driving along in 2 and changed to 3rd and had a bump and relised I couldnt get it into any other gears apart from 3rd and 4th. Manged to get it to my gfs and got it into all of the gears (with a struggle) car drives but when I let off the accelerator the car makes a whining noise
Any ideas what this could be?
ANy help would be great

If your switches are knackered, can you still open (and close) the windows with your key? Eg. Unlock the car, hold the lock in the open position and the windows roll down, ditto in reverse for locking.
I dont think its the switches as if I arm my alarm I can press the switch down and the windows go down

Ok so my new plan is just to disconnect the electric windows from the alarm to see if that makes a difference. I was looking for any extra wiring from the alarm that may control the windows but Im not 100% sure where to look apart from the pics below
Any advice would be great
