[mk2 door hinges and engine trouble]

hi all,

unfortunatly my drivers door hinges are getting very bad. the door has droped down by about half an inch so the door is now being damaged. so i need to change them.

so does anyone know where i can get them from and also a new check strap from? and the procedure?

also iv been having trouble witht the engine cutting out on the motorway. usually in the wet but somtimes in the dry aswell. cuts out for abouot 2 second before coming back again. somtimes does it on normal roads aswell. also when it comes to a stop somtimes it ticks over at 1000 rpm instead of the usual 500 and it produces a weird hissing noise from the engine somwhere??

Cost me £250 for a major service. Including cam belt and fan belt.

i also had this problem in both mine after changine the bulbs. took the back covers off to dy them out and they were fine until it rains or it is wet and they do it again. i found that the back wasnt fitting propperly. there are two prongs that have to fit in two holes on the bottom of the headlight. if they dont go in propperly then it doesnt seal propperly. check these and if it isnt then check the seals on them. hope this helped

do you have passenger headlight new style. how much? would you post?

[mk 2 headlight wont adjust]

my passenger side headlight wont adjust and is just pointing about a metre infront of the car. i have tried to adjust it and it doesnt move. it just make a bang every 3 turns. been coping with it for a while no but im positive its getting worse. any ideas?

thanks. i am going to just put upgraded suspention on it. anout 25-30 mm all round drop. if you cant make it faster in a straight line.. make it faster from A to B lol.

about getting a GTI check this photo out. thats my arosa. and my bros GTI. but hes gone to austrailia for a year so its gunna be laid up. maybe i will get it one day.

hi all,

i am 17 and i would like to get a little more power out of my arosa. now i know what your all gonnah say. "buy a 1.4". but unfortunatly i cant due to insurence at the moment.

so what things can i do the the engine to get a little more. i know its wasting money but i just want to try. is there any exhaust maniflods or other parts? cams?

im going to try and get a second hand head and gasflow it. put bigger exhaust ports in. what else can i do the the engine? also iv seen this fuel pressure regulator that replaces the original and increases the fuel pressure in the rail. would this make much difference appart from better throttle response?

any help would be appriciated, thanks

put the alloys on today. the standard bolts are fine for the alloys. the only thing i need to get is 4 security bolts so know one can nick my alloys.

can the wheel bolts of the original 13" steel wheels be used to bolt on a set of original 14" s alloys? if not what do i would i have to buy? any help much appriciated

1. Yes 4 Stud Polo alloys will fit

2. Yes 4 Stud Ibiza Alloys will fit though i believe they will have slightly larger tyres.

3. 8 spoke arosa alloys come up on both here and ebay from time to time, 5 spoke ones seemingly never.

hi all, iv just bought an arosa MKII. its the 1.0 (not the s). i want to buy a set of seat alloys but i am finding it hard to find seat arosa alloys. so i thought id ask you guys.

1) would a set of polo 14" alloys fit it as iv heard they are the same just the nave plate is different?

2) iv found a tidy set of 14" ibiza alloys on ebay. would these fit or tyre change to make them fit?

3) i would really like a set of 5 spoke or 8 spoke seat arosa alloys. any ideas where i could get these second hand. esppecially the 8 spoke?

i dont have a hudge amount to spend so they would have to be second hand, cheap and with tyres.

any help appriciated
