that is NOT the gear oil filler plug, its an inspection port.
-
there are 4 grounding bolts directly behind the ashtray for various electrics. take out the centre trim - remove gear gaiter, hanbrake cover and a couple of torx screws either side.
-
Use a voltmeter over the terminals to check and check for a short on battery neg

trust me there is no clip, i have taken one of my car and one that was being broken. you just have to yank really hard with one hand and twist it at the base using the other!
-
It just pulls off, it looks like it doesnt but it does. It's about a 10 second job. Make sure you clean all the crap out on the PCV housing, use an old toothbrush or something.

you could find this information out for yourself with a quick search on euro car parts, but judging by how you have written your question your knowledge of cars appears to be limited at best so if would give it to a mechanic.
-
yes you put it in the coolant expansion tank, but it shouldn't need it - if the liquid is coloured it means it has antifreeze.

Hi, my friend is breaking a 6n2 with ABS and my lupo doesn't have abs. The mounts are all there and all the brakes are the same size. is it possible to retrofit it in?

I changed it, there's a good guide in the how to section. It takes 2.7 litres of ep 75w90

first port of call would be change the gearbox oil, simple, cheap and fixes a lot of problems

it was thick single core cable, but problem resolved. The phonos were loose in the amp!

hi, just taken the sub out of my mates car and put it in mine.
He wanted to keep the wiring so we sort of made a homemade kit.
for the power we used a really thick gauge stiff copper wire, the sort you use in wiring sockets in the house.
my question is do you think its the heavy gauge wiring which is causing it to be quiter and less punchy than in my mates car?
thanks

i have a 1.4 s if it is the 1999 model then i think im right in saying there is no engine management light. 2000 onwards there is.
-
try changing the bulb holder
-
got it back today retimed and running smooth.
bit annoyed that the whole thing used 1/4 of a tank as well.
do you reckon i can use their mistake to get my wheel bearing done cheaper?
-
took my loop (1.4 16v ahw) to get the timing belt and water pump changed at a small vw specialist. Got the car back and it was idling at 400 rpm when at 90 degrees before it idled at about 550 which i always thought was a little low anyway.
So it sounded really rough like it was going to stall and i was getting weird feedback through the pedal when it was hunting. So i took it back and he was like 'sorry, i'll check the timing, it might be a tooth out'.
So if it's a tooth out what does that mean for the engine, damage? wear on the cams?
thanks

changed the oil & oil filter and PCV hose. No blue smoke, sludge has not returned.
Breather hose just pulled off, went to a breakers yard and got one off a golf for free! saved myself £45 from VW!

Hi,
I've designed a custom box and was hoping people who know what they're talking about could give me some feedback?
Is the mdf thick enough? is the volume big enough? its designed for a 10 inch sub and to take exactly 1/4 of the boot.
cheers

found this on a car audio forum, does anyone know who made this or if they have made something similar, and what it's like?
