  1. Hi again! My car is now serviced, and running nice and smoothly. But the EPC light is still on. The garage said they cleared the fault code and the light went out, but it came straight back again. They now want to charge me £50 to 'reseat and investigate the problem', which I've declined for the moment, as the brake lights are still working. Any thoughts as to why the EPC light is staying on? Thanks
  2. Brighton to Cornwall/Devon border took about 3/4 of a tank on my 1.4s, mix of motorway, jam and hills.. (Dear god the hills - the east side of Dartmoor is horrid, damned satnav has it in for me). Brighton to Nottingham North (motorway all the way, barely any stopping) half a tank. Not sure what that equates to for mileage - but each journey is around the 200mile mark I think. Most of my driving is in 4th/5th gear (even at 30 the car seems most comfortable in 4th gear...)
  3. Hi Folks - thanks for the advice, I replaced the switch yesterday morning and everything is working again - the dash light is still on, but I'll ask them to switch it off on tuesday when it goes in for it's service. I had to remove a single plastic panel by the pedals, but the whole process didn't take more than 10 minutes - took longer than that for all the blood to rush back to my feet!
  4. Looks like I'm going to be hanging upside down in the footwell tomorrow then, thanks for the replies
  5. Hi folks, I've had my 1.4 Lupo Sport (I love it, even though my girlfriend has nicknamed it 'The Frog', as it's green with bug-eyes) for about 18 months now and this is the first thing I've had go seriously wrong with it - the 'I don't feel well'/emissions light has come and gone a couple of times of it's own accord, but on Wednesday It and the EPC light flipped on and my brake lights stopped working. The fuses all seem fine, so I'm assuming (I don't have access to VAG-COM) that it's probably the switch that's gone kaput. It's already booked in for an annual service on Tuesday, but I need to be road legal over the weekend so I've got the part, and looked over how to replace it - all seems simple enough. The only instructions on removing the trim to get at the base of the pedals I've been able to find was for a Golf, and I can't work out how to translate them over to removing the trim from the Lupo. Do I actually need to remove the trim, or is it possible to get at the switch without removing it (if so - where abouts?), otherwise - how do I go about removing the appropriate pieces of plastic? Thanks!
