Need a 1.0litre gearbox for my lupo. Anyone happen to have one or know anyone? or anything else that will work( polo?)

ok, my lupos gearbox is broken. just wondering if the gearbox out of my mk4(1999)polo 1.4 would fit in the lupo 1.0 1999? ive been told by two garages it will and then that it will not by another two? any ideas anyone? Thanks
