  1. great, i am up in manchester for a week this month, staying in swinton. i'll be sure to take everything of value out of the car.
  2. i think it's good viewing. i hope lucy, stacy, danyl, daniel, duane, ricky, and joe all go through. the others i'm not fussed about, but the group with the 3 girls who were soloists previously is about the only group i think that are any good.
  3. - Whenever I'm Facebook stalking someone and I find out that their profile is public, I feel like a kid on Christmas morning that just got the Red Ryder BB gun that I always wanted. 546 pictures? Don't mind if I do! - I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello? Dammit!), but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and goes to voicemail. What'd you do after I didn't answer? Drop the phone and run away? - More often than not, when someone is telling me a story all I can think about is that I can't wait for them to finish so that I can tell my own story that's not only better, but also more directly involves me. - I don't understand the purpose of the line, "I don't need to drink to have fun." Great, no one does. But why start a fire with flint and sticks when they've invented the lighter? - Sometimes, I'll watch a movie that I watched when I was younger and suddenly realise I had no idea what the f*** was going on when I first saw it. - Have you ever been walking down the street and realised that you're going in the complete opposite direction of where you are supposed to be going? But instead of just turning a 180 and walking back in the direction from which you came, you have to first do something like check your watch or phone or make a grand arm gesture and mutter to yourself to ensure that no one in the surrounding area thinks you're crazy by randomly switching directions on the sidewalk. - I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger. - Is it just me, or are 80% of the people in the "people you may know" feature on Facebook people that I do know, but I deliberately choose not to be friends with? - Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realise you're wrong. - Do you remember when you were a kid, playing Nintendo and it wouldn't work? You take the cartridge out, blow in it and that would magically fix the problem. Every kid did that, but how did we all know how to fix the problem? There was no internet or message boards or FAQ's. We just figured it out. Today's kids are soft. - There is a great need for sarcasm font. - I think everyone has a movie that they love so much, it actually becomes stressful to watch it with other people. I'll end up wasting 90 minutes shiftily glancing around to confirm that everyone's laughing at the right parts, then making sure I laugh just a little bit harder (and a millisecond earlier) to prove that I'm still the only one who really, really gets it. - How the hell are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet? - I would rather try to carry 10 plastic grocery bags in each hand than take 2 trips to bring my groceries in. - I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die. - LOL has gone from meaning, "laugh out loud" to "I have nothing else to say". - I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger. - Whenever someone says "I'm not book smart, but I'm street smart", all I hear is "I'm not real smart, but I'm imaginary smart". - How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod and smile because you still didn't hear what they said? - I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars teams up to prevent a dick from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers! - Every time I have to spell a word over the phone using 'as in' examples, I will undoubtedly draw a blank and sound like a complete idiot. Today I had to spell my boss's last name to an attorney and said "Yes that's G as in...(10 second lapse)..ummm...Goonies". - What would happen if I hired two private investigators to follow each other? - While driving yesterday I saw a banana peel in the road and instinctively swerved to avoid it...thanks Mario Kart. - Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died. - I find it hard to believe there are actually people who get in the shower first and THEN turn on the water. - Shirts get dirty. Underwear gets dirty. Pants? Pants never get dirty, and you can wear them forever. - I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired. - Bad decisions make good stories. - Is it just me or do high school girls get sluttier & sluttier every year? - If Carmen San Diego and Waldo ever got together, their offspring would probably just be completely invisible. - Why is it that during an ice-breaker, when the whole room has to go around and say their name and where they are from, I get so incredibly nervous? Like I know my name, I know where I'm from, this shouldn't be a problem ? - You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you've made up your mind that you just aren't doing anything productive for the rest of the day. - Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after DVDs? I don't want to have to restart my collection. - There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far. - I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten page research paper that I swear I did not make any changes to. - "Do not machine wash or tumble dry" means I will never wash this ever. - I hate being the one with the remote in a room full of people watching TV. There's so much pressure. 'I love this show, but will they judge me if I keep it on? I bet everyone is wishing we weren't watching this. It's only a matter of time before they all get up and leave the room. Will we still be friends after this?' - I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not seeing anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste. - When I meet a new guy, I'm terrified of mentioning something he hasn't already told me but that I have learned from some light internet stalking. - I like all of the music in my iTunes, except when it's on shuffle, then I like about one in every fifteen songs in my iTunes. - Why is a school zone 25 km/h? That seems like the optimal cruising speed for paedophiles... - As a driver I hate pedestrians and as a pedestrian I hate drivers, but no matter what the mode of transportation, I always hate cyclists.. - Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is. - I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call. - Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, hitting the G-spot, and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey - but I'd bet my ass everyone can find and push the Snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time every time... - I wonder if cops ever get pissed off at the fact that everyone they drive behind obeys the speed limit. - I think the freezer deserves a light as well. - The other night I ordered take away and when I looked in the bag, saw they had included four sets of plastic cutlery. In other words, someone at the restaurant packed my order, took a second to think about it, and then estimated that there must be at least four people eating to require such a large amount of food. Too bad I was eating by myself. There's nothing like being made to feel like a fat lovely person before dinner.

    DIRT 2?

I have it. Not played it yet though as I am in cyprus till friday. Looking forward to getting need for speed : shift when I get home too.
  5. i really would think long and hard about it, give it some stick and it's low single figure consumption. i have no idea on your disposable income situation, but it really is an expensive car to run. on the other hand it's a hell of a lot of car for the money, and what you save on buying it compared to something more prestigious you can throw into the fuel costs.
  6. i once had a classic mini cooper. had it for a month. worst car ever. can't see why anyone would want to own one longterm. uncomfortable, bumpy, slow, noisy, no luxuries, small, heavy steering. not really anything to like about them.
  7. yes it's the same on turbo'd petrol cars. it has made a massive massive difference and it's like a totally different car. allegedly gained 40-50bhp so around 260-270bhp and should be around 300-330ft/lb of torque. it feels like it, but really i wouldn't like to make any claims of power till it's been on a dyno, but the amount of torque it now has is silly. i have the dreamscience stratagem handset which basically has 5 different maps on it.... Performance (A marked improvement on std keeping its character) Performance+ (A surprisingly rewarding map, like Performance, but a bit more oomph) Race (More boost than perf+ and less impact than Race+ suitable for full mods) Race+ (amazing response and instant kick) DSCI (More boost and torque for more of the revs a much more of a drivers map very progressive great for modified and part modified alike, a great basis for things to come) each map has different characteristics and you can revert to stock at any time, and upload each map to your car as many times as you want. i am running the DSCI map at the moment which is the most agressive as boost kicks in higher up the range and harder and gives you that classic turbo'd car feel. the other maps are more progressive. very very pleased with the performance so far, going fast is effortless.
  8. ok, picked it up today and got it remapped already too damn i can't help myself! high speed performance is pretty epic to say the least, plant it in 5th and 6th and it just goes and goes. well pleased with it so far, only complaint is that you can really feel it's weight when chucking it around and it understeers quite easily, but tbh this car was more about comfortable cruising for me rather than all out nimbleness round the twistys.
  9. if he ran the sun over i think he'd have more than a slight issue, but it would be pretty impressive none the less!
  10. yeah i have the extended warranty, so got another 2 years of worry free motoring. i paid £12k for this on an 06 plate with 40k on the clock. if i had have bought privately i would have got much more of a bargain, infact i think i would have got one with half the mileage for the same money. they just happened to have one with the right spec and colour, and it was there and available, so being impatient i just went for it as they also offered a fairly decent finance option. i did consider an octavia vRS like yours jon, but after owning the fabia vRS i was just a little wary of other peoples badge snobbery, not that owning a ford gives anyone any kudos, but you know what i mean. with regards to my short lived aspirations to get a TT diesel..... i was supposed to have a test drive in one today but the dealer phoned and cancelled and said they had sold the car i was gonna drive and that they would have to get another one in for saturday. i had the day off work today as i was gonna test drive the TT and a new mini cooper S, so to waste some time i called the ford dealer and they had the ST available so i figured i'd give it a spin. i also went into the renault dealer and could have bought a brand spanking new clio sport 200 for pretty much the same monthly finance figure. jon, have you bought a volvo? i really want a c30 t5 in white with bodykit and big wheels.
  11. i do like the mk5 gti, and it would be way more economical than the ST, but the 2.5 5cyl engine really is a corker! can't wait to get it mapped, hopefully get it done within the next few weeks.
  12. yeah, i'll be getting a dreamscience map for mine with the handset to change between different maps. as far as i've read, you get 5 or 7 different maps (depending on handset model) on the handset which you can obviously flash to your car as many times as you want depending on if you want performance or economy. not that economy enters into it with these things. low 20's to the gallon are to be expected on average. i'm excited, but at the same time nervous. how the hell will these things sell second hand in 2 or 3 years time when petrol is extortionate and nobody wants to buy them?
  13. i do love the orange ones, and i honestly would have bought one had it not been for the fact that i use my car for business sometimes, and this is a little more subtle. in theory work could give me some restrictions on what i drive as i actually pay for this with my car allowance. they never would restrict me as the company isn't like that, but i don't think orange would impress them much.
  14. yes it's a ford, and no somebody didn't drug me and make me buy it. it's an ST3 (top spec model) with some added extras like keyless entry and parking sensors. i chose it cos they are relatively cheap to insure since i lost most of my ncb in my accident. only reservation i have is fuel consumption which by all accounts will be low 20's to the gallon, but the 5 cyl engine does sound sweet. was originally gonna go for a new TT, but sensibility got the better of me, and at only £260 a month for finance payments this is pretty cheap. you may now flame me!
  15. that is bo11ox, superclub my arse! i went to melkweg when i was out there and it was dire! not even as good as your usual generic oceana nightclub that most major towns over here have. i paid 10 euros to get in, wandered around for 10 minutes, drank one of their overpriced half pint heineken's, and then walked straight out again.
  16. i'm only a c*nt when i've got nothing better to say
  17. although it costs the same to actually buy the 2.0 turbo as the 2.0 diesel, to lease it actually costs more, i assume due to the diesel depreciating less. it's £40 a month more to lease the 2.0 turbo than the 2.0 diesel.
  18. has the TTTDI you have at work been mapped? basically i don't wanna end up buying one and wishing i'd gone for a 2.0tsi. I'm hoping 205bhp with 300 odd ft/lb of torque will go nicely, but obviously there is the 4wd system to sap power. i've heard really good things about the new 1.8 tsi, and that it can be mapped to 220bhp. i wonder what they are like on torque compared to the 2.0tsi. i was more than pleased with my fabia vRS which was mapped, and that went very nicely so i can't really see me being disappointed with the diesel TT.
  19. 8k a year is nothing, i'd be willing to see 20-25mpg on average over that kinda mileage. skylines, 200sx's, and mini cooper s (the supercharged one is shocking on fuel, the newer turbo'd version is a little better) are all dire on fuel.
  20. nope, it's on a personal lease scheme over 2 years. £380 a month.
  21. i had 3 years ncb, i was only a few months away from getting my 4th and being able to protect my ncb. am now on 1 year. might pop into the bmw dealer and see what the 123d is like then. would prefer it in a coupe or convertible though.
  22. on the verge of placing an order for one, all the reviews seem to rate them highly, and i'm kinda restricted on what cars i can get now as i only have 1 years ncb after writing off the s2000. so points for the TT.... quattro (will make it harder for me to throw it off the road into a central reservation again) diesel so fuel consumption will be good remap on the new 170 cr engines brings it up to 205bhp lots of real world usable performance £120 a year roadtax bad points... it's a diesel in a sporty car some people think it's girly/hairdressery it's a lot of money i haven't driven one yet off to the audi dealer on friday as i have the day off and a test drive booked. looking to lease and it looks like it will be late december when it arrives, so it's a bit of a wait, but hopefully worth it. will 100% order it in white if i go ahead. insurance is only £780 fully comp for me even with 3 points and writing off the s2000 and losing most of my no claims bonus.
  23. i'm back from amsterdam!! 3 day hardcore binge, managed to do £600. everything was bloody expensive as the exchange rate is so crap. it's all a very big blur and some totally hilarious stuff happened. way too much alcohol and other substances were consumed, and i must have eaten at mcdonalds around 6 times in the 3 days :S has anyone else ever tried space shuttles (truffles)? most hilarious day of my life, was literally crying i was laughing so hard at things that weren't even funny normally. can't recommend it enough!
