£50 cash if i pick up tonight?
-
Well i used the Armtech with great success on my old nova C20LET. It really halped with traction off the line and down the quarter mile it was fantastic. Knocked my quarter mile times down to 12.8 from 13.2.
So we all think this is a no go area then? The standard ecu wil hate me forever more?!
I might just use it for the shift lights then, and set the rev limiter to 10,000rpm so it never kicks in, and not bother with the launch/full throttle changing facilities.
-
I think the ECU would hate that! It works by dumping coil voltage and that is bound to casue volt codes and warning lights.
I might give it a go and see if i can play connect 4 with my warning lights! lol
Surely though, it states it can be used on a car with a single coil, so in theory it should work on the GTI?!
I think the launch control could be good, and i was gonna set the shift lights for fuel economy.

I'm fitting a Rev limiter/shift light/full throttle shifter to my GTI soon. It's this one : Armetch limiter
My only concern is, will the hard cut limiter play havoc with the ECU. As effectively, it is rapidly cutting the power from the coil to the dizzy...
Also, is the GTI engine run from a single coil, if so, where are the wires that power it?
-
Can you send some pics of them on the Arosa to matthewcoops@hotmail.co.uk.
Also, what brand are the tyres?
-
I am going to carry out the 280mm conversion on my GTI this week.
I need to know the following;
1) What cars do the carriers come on? Early Mk3 GTI?
2) What discs do i order? G60?
3) What pads do i order? Standard Lupo GTI?
-
I run 16x7's on a gti, with 195/45/16.
The speedo is bang on with the sat nav, to the nearest 1mph at 135mph.
-
The thing is, there wont be anywhere under the car for the exhaust to tuck up into (ie. exhaust tunnel), so if you're low, which it looks like you are, then the pipe's gonna get battered where it deviates from the normal exhaust route.
Would be a cool place to have it though, i agree!

I refurbed the head on my C20XE engine, along with cleaning the tappets.
Be carefull when taking the cams out. There's a certain order to undo the cam carriers so as not to warp them.
I pulled the centre's out of the lifter with some Long nose pliers, cleaned all the crap out and cleaned them up in turps. Make sure you get all the old oil out though!
Make sure you fill them with oil before putting them back in or they will tap for ages!!
With the centre out of the lifter, submerge all 16 in a big tub of oil, then while submerged push the centre's back into the lifter to ensure it's full of oil, then levae in the tub of oil till you need to put them back in.
Hey presto, no tapping!!
-
I think the Janspeed tailpipes look awesome!!
-
Oops! Crappy internet connection!
-
Be carefull ramming them on.
Agreed, it's easy to just pull the wheel on using the wheel nuts, but what about when it comes to getting it back off...
-
I put Vauxhall Cavvy Cesaro's on my Lupo.
You'll need more than wet and dry to get them on! I used a half moon rasp and it took a couple of mins per wheel. Make sure you keep the bore round, or you'll be bouncing down the road!

our lupo at work (the vw cup lupo) is 1.9 tdi and is insanely fast
it has been a 2.0l gti from i think a mk2 golf in the past but being n/a wasn't as good as the tdi
now our future plans are to retire it from vw cup and thought about either a 2.0 tfsi from a mk5 golf gti or i think its 3.0 maybe 2.0l v6 tdi out of the a4's? it's all ideas at the moment tho
say what you want but we WILL make it fit :')
Any pic/info on this tdi? I assume its a PD?
That is something i'd love to do!

I'm going for an Ashley race manifold, decat, no centre box and a standard back box.
-
I'm your side of Coventry, in Eastern Green.
I spend a lot of time in Leam. Are you one of the "Late night Maccies crowd"?
You got a GTI mate?
-
I've seen this in Kenilworth too i think!
Where you from mate?
-
Yes, it can be done, with suprisingly good result!
-
Bike carbs can be done cheaply and it would run very well on them as long as they're setup correctly.
I heard a 1.4 polo running on bike carbs at Dub-unit in Tamworth and i honestly thought it was standard. It wasnt until it was revved hard that you could tell it was on carbs. The idle was super smooth and it started on the button!
-
It's just pathetic. I really dont understand how people can actually think it looks good?
People just being sheep and following the rest of the crowd thinking they're cool and different.
If this rat/euro look was never invented, can you honestly say you'd consider pouring paint stripper on your car to m,ake it look good?
-
Each to their own though?
Yer, but come on mate... lol
-
HAHA! That looks crap!
Well done, you wrecked what was previously a god car.
I dont understand this forum...
Someone comes on and says, "i wanna make my car loud", and you instantly shoot him down.
Someone comes on to say, "i've poured paint stripper on my car so it goes rusty" and you all offer advice on helping him wreck his car.
-
What sort of dick "Deliberatly" sands the paint off the bonnet so it goes rusty?
Surely the rat look should be derived from an abused car, that has had no attention paid to it, but still keeps on running and serving a puropse!
Not purposefully done by some spotty teenager who buys a 2002 Lupo and pours paint stripper on the bonnet!
Haha! Imagine what your grandad would say if you told him what you're planning to do.

You can't steer when you're skidding on snow though...
But it doesnt skid with ABS, hence you can still steer.
6 Speed Gearbox Code
in Volkswagen Lupo

Can anyone confirm the gearbox code of the GTI 6 speed box?
That is all.
