  1. Try popping the seals out and see if it works?
  2. Did this today to replace the poxy plastic runners which had broken, what a clat of a job ! In the instructions above you mention one of the bolts has a spacer............ 4/ undo the 10mm bolts holding the motor in place (3). Undo the 10 mm bolts at the bottom and top of the regulator arms (2 for each arm). Note one of these has a spacer that may fall into the bottom of the door. ........... mine did not have a spacer in any position but obviously someone had been inside the door before me (broken glass in bottom of door). Howvever on reassembly the window labours to go up (silicon grease put in all the runners etc.) so I'm gueesing the spacer is important? Can you identify which bolt should have the spacer, and what thickness it should be? Thanks
  3. Okay, swapped the RED and YELLOW wires around and it now keeps it's memory, switches ON and OFF with the ignition (as it should), just need to sort out some rear speakers and also the Amplifier for the AERIAL - does it need this?
  4. After unravelling the ElsaWin CD wiring diagrams I can report the following............... SEAT POSITION & WIRE COLOURS A1 = WHITE/BLUE (Unknown but thought to be possibly connected to alarm system?) A2 = Blank A3 = GREY/WHITE (connected into "Diagnostics" system?) A4 = BROWN/RED (Ignition Feed) A5 = BLACK (Aerial Booster) A6 = GREY/BLUE (Lights/Illumination) A7 = RED (Permanent Live Feed) A8 = BROWN (Earth) I'll try swapping some wires this weekend and report back on outcome. Why the hell all manufacturers can't use the standard DIN/ISO system I don't know ???

  6. Does anyone know the secret to the colour coding of the wiring on a SEAT AROSA 1.0s standard Radio/Cassette player? I have a copy of the ElsaWin CD workshop manual but guess what, the wiring pictures will not display !!! I had posted this on the ICE setion but no answer yet? - link - My link SEAT POSITION & WIRE COLOURS A1 = WHITE/BLUE A2 = Blank A3 = GREY/WHITE A4 = BROWN/RED A5 = BLACK A6 = GREY/BLUE A7 = RED A8 = BROWN ISO POSITION & WIRE COLOURS A1 = BROWN (AUDIO MUTE FOR TELEPHONE) A2 = Blank A3 = Blank A4 = YELLOW (+12V PERMANENT FEED) A5 = BLUE (AERIAL or AMP) A6 = ORANGE/WHITE (ILLUMINATION) A7 = RED (ACCESSORY) A8 = BLACK (GROUND/EARTH)
  7. The bit that concerns me is the fact that the Red (A7) and Brown (A8) are both "heavier" wires which would suggest they are power cables (in and/or out)? I'd really like to know what each of the wires are for before I swap them around - don't want to fubar my nice ne HU !!! Anyone know the secret of the SEAT colours?
  8. Does anyone have the ISO cross reference colour codes for the SEAT audio system or what each wire is for? SEAT POSITION & WIRE COLOURS A1 = WHITE/BLUE A2 = Blank A3 = GREY/WHITE A4 = BROWN/RED A5 = BLACK A6 = GREY/BLUE A7 = RED A8 = BROWN ISO POSITION & WIRE COLOURS A1 = BROWN (AUDIO MUTE FOR TELEPHONE) A2 = Blank A3 = Blank A4 = YELLOW (+12V PERMANENT FEED) A5 = BLUE (AERIAL or AMP) A6 = ORANGE/WHITE (ILLUMINATION) A7 = RED (ACCESSORY) A8 = BLACK (GROUND/EARTH)
  9. Yeh, I recognise the connectors are DIN so no problem there It doesn't help that the SEAT wire colours are non ISO What confuses me is the number of wires (7) that are in the power (black) ISO connector There is a wire in A3 (Grey with White trace) which is normally blank/empty Obviously with the SEAT there are only front speakers (2 x door speakers and 2 x tweeters in the dash) as can be seen by the brown DIN but I think I can manage to add the additional connectors required for 2 x more speakers I have now fitted the Clarion HU but it appears to lose it's preset station memory when ignition is switched off for a period of time but there is a wire in A4 (Brown with Red trace) which should be 12v permanent I really only expected to see 3 x wires in the power DIN block (ignition, ground and permanent live) as the SEAT radio/cassette player is pretty basic. Does anyone have the colour codes for the SEAT audio system
  10. Okay, I've puller out the old SEAT HU but the wiring colour codes and positions look different to my Clarion HU see pics of what I found. Can i just plug it in as-is to the Clarion HU or do the wires need changing around? Can anyone give me a bit of guidence? i don't want to disconnect the SEAT HU as it will then need recoding (I'm told by SEAT that it has to be done at SEAT garage with their diagnostic kit?)
  11. Thanks for the quick reply :-) I thought it should drop away but you never can tell till you do it?
  12. Just noticed (while fitting some rear mud flaps) that the offside rear coil spring is broken at the bottom (now I know why it squeeks!!). How easy is it to change? Looks like you could just undo the bottom shock mount and it would be removable reasonably easy? Any advice before I start to do it? Thanks :-) I did do a bit of a search but couldn't find anything :-(
  13. After a quick Google I see that when changing the standard head unit you need an ISO Adaptor for the loom and also for the aerial socket - can anyone point me to the correct adaptor ??
  14. Okay, managed to buy one off eBay but after a quick look through it I'm not too impressed , tells you naff all I'll see if it's worth scanning and posting, any interest (apart from Dude) ?
  15. Can any of you ICE Experts recommend a nice easy replacement upgrade for the original in car ICE? Needs to have iPod, Blue Tooth (for hands free phone) and Aux connections. Also looking at fitting a sub with integral amp at later stage. Been looking at the Clarion CZ309E - link any comments?
  16. Thanks, now sorted :-) Also changed the near side front side light, what a pain in the ass :-( and it's gone again :-( but my hand hasn't recovered yet from contorting it last time !!! Sod it !
  17. The Heater, Fan and direction controls in my Arosa do not illuminate when the lights are on, is ther supposed to be a bulb in the back of it somewhere and if so how do you change it if it's blown?

How much would a clutch change cost at a garage?
  19. Hello, I recently bought a Seat Arosa 1.0L Sport for my son but unfortunately the previous owner had not got the owners manual so wondered if anyone had a PDF version of it they could let me have? I am looking to fit a new ICE system but not sure if disconnecting the battery will force a new key code input for the alarm/immobiliser or existing Seat stereo? We also only have one "non-fob" type key and are looking to get a spare - any ideas where best to get one?
