sounds reasonable .. kind of ties in aswell .. I started it yesterday when it did it and it sounded like it was trying to start on 3 .. it kind of fired then died straight away and gave it full throttle and it picked up .. daughter says it smells of fuel like flooding too when it happens .. cheers for the feedback .. i'll let you know what i find.. garage did the plugs .. not leads or coil pack... would you suggest them? it starts great from cold .. .. someone mentioned for the other problem, the air flow sensor can cause cat faults to show up .. don't know why but i've got it in my mind it could be this .. but please someone correct me if you think im wrong and save me some dosh! Hilly

HI Guys Ok i have another query for you! .. car starts fine from cold .. intermittently ( can go for days without doing it then do it for a full day!) the car won't start if its still warm .. just fuel smell and seems to flood .. even garage couldn't start it .. leave it 5 mins .. starts straight away .. wierd .. any suggestions? .. maybe its related to the cat fault that is showing on the diagnostics that i mentioned in another post? what do you guys think? Thanks mate .. I'll find out the exact code and post it up .. .. I've seen the manifold with the cat in and thought about changing the complete manifold .. Is it easy enough to get to and just as easy to change as a normal manifold? .. Cheers Hilly

Hi guys Im a new member here looking for a bit of advice ( said hello in new members!) Got an 02 1.4 lupo (its actually my daughters) with the following fault.. If she drives it on the motorway the emmisions light comes on .. takes it to garage who have checked it and reset a couple of times and they said its showing cat faulty. Checking the reciepts we got with the car, it had a new cat fitted less than 12 months ago at kwik fit.. rang them and said cos its not her name on receipt warranty isn't valid .. anyway .. garage said theres also the manifold cat and it could be that .. what do you guys think? .. car drives no different and pulls well .. If it is the manifold cat how difficult is it to change yourself? ( Im an aircooled vw guy so ok mechanically but not keen on this elecrickery stuff! ) and where is best to get one from? ... are the ones on ebay to be avoided? Thanks in advance guys! Hilly

Hi guys .. Hope im welcome here! .. I don't have a Lupo myself ( but im a VW man .. 06 beetle cab and 70 earlybay ) .. but my daughter has seen the way of the vw and has just got a Lupo 1.4 .. and of course dads got the job of sorting the problems! .. Its like this .. aircooled old stuff im fine .. engine warning lights scare me! Im hoping for some advice and suggestions and a good chat with other owners .. Cheers in advance Hilly
