Many thanks guys for all your answers and I think this has made my mind up not to bring the car back to the UK but to sell it here, in Spain, before we leave. I have contacted a couple of dealers in England and they only offered £1,300 for it and I'm not sure that this would be the right value, perhaps it is? Such a shame, I do love my little car.

We are bringing our much-loved vw lupo 1.6 gti 2001 to the UK shortly, having lived and purchased it in Spain. It's obviously a left-hand drive and we would welcome any advice please regarding the possibility of selling it together with its value. The car has 120k on the clock, is in excellent condition and has all the usual documentation. Are left-hands saleable?? All help gratefully received. If we were not returning to the UK for ill-health, we would not be selling this little beauty.
