Came to start up my Lupo today and there is no power at all. When turn key, no lights on dashboard and even the hazard light isn't turning on. Had a flat battery before but at least dash and hazards have worked then. Can anyone help?

I have an issue with my 2003 Lupo Automatic. Before you can start you have to unlock the vehicle by pressing the clutch and putting gear into neutral (not sure if that is a feature on Auto's only). Once in neutral you turn the ignition and car fires up. However, every 3-4 times it doesn't work, foot on clutch, turn key and nothing - gear stick still locked. Keep doing it and eventually after 20-30 attempts will finally work. Anybody else had this problem? Any ideas on what the fix is?
