  5. Haha, i can completely understand where you're coming from, they offered me £1200 as a part exchange on a newer car priced at £8499 That doesnt mean they valued it at £1200, its not worth that, and i didnt want their car. i'm being as honest as possible. Karma's bite on your arse hurts, so im not wishing to rip anyone off. However, if anyone out there does want to pay £1200 please do make it known!!! Hope that's clearer?
  6. Hi There, I'm reaching the end of my ownership with my first car, beloved little lupo! I bought the car two years ago, and in absolute honesty, had no end of trouble! Its on it's arse to say the least, on coilovers! I had some of the sport alloys put on the car as soon as i bought it, not a fan of the P slots that came with it. In the first week of ownership, i had the timing belt done, and the nearly new tyres, which are still pretty good, they havent done that many miles really, maybe 6000 maximum. Its had a new cat, after failing on the emissions on the MOT. This cured part of the problem, but i then had to undergo serious engine work! The bottom end is virtually new, lamba sensor also. it then passed the MOT as some serious expense. This time around it also failed on....you guessed it, emissions! The garage who i had the work done with suggested injector cleaner, and cleaning out the throttle body. This seemed to work as a short term fix, passing the MOT! There is still an issue with the carb, but its completely useable. It starts fine, and drives fine, it just doesnt seem to find the automatic choke level it should. i was informed its nothing particularly major, and its not caused me too much of an issue so far in the winter months. Aesthetically, its not a bad car at all, it does have the usually stone chips, odd dent (bonnet) and scratch that you would expect from a car of it's age. she is low! not by choice, i bought the car like that, and simply haven't bothered "highering" her up! (apologies in advance for all the extreme dubbers for using that phrase!) The important information is as follows ; 1999 T Reg 96000 Miles - Not much else can go wrong! MOT expires in August 2012 Tax expires in January 2012 Jazz Blue Slight Issue With Idling - Carb Potentially Price - Now i realise that forum rules state you must have a price.. but i am open to offers! I regrettably visited carcraft the other day and they offered me £1200 in part ex.. So for arguments sake £1000 Ono, Please do feel free to contact me via Phone, or PM. 07735393280 Ideal first car, cheap Insurance most importantly, 55mpg On the motorway - Tried and tested from Leeds To Newquay over the august bank holiday! 8. Got a radio sat in my walk in wardrobe doing sweet F.A, Must be of use to someone, No idea what these are worth, but i understand that i have to state a price, so for arguments sake £30 including postage...? Make me an offer, Thanks in advance, Kane.
  9. Cheers The cheapest engine i can find is £350 at the moment, then the labout totals that up to about £800 is it really worth it :/
  10. thanks for the reply, its the cost of it that puts me off, especially considering no one is certain what the problem is! is it worth nothing without the engine?
  11. right, ive had the car since november, and it failed its mot this week on emissions, and blue smoke. I took it straight into a garage where i have had work done before, and they decided the cheapest option would be to fit a new cat, do an oil and filter and try using one of those off the shelf quick fix things! This hasnt worked, which they did warm me about to be fair. The bloke who actually carried out the mot said the piston rings could be the problem... The word 'could'm being the operative! He advised me to basically...get a new engine, cos the costs would be similar, and a new engine would almost guarantee a pass. Im struggling to keep faith with the car, as i have spent alot on it already.. The question is..is it worth paying this 800 or so pounds, or are they worth anything engineless? Which am i more likely to lose the least from! Thanks in advance, Kane.
