  1. Hi - does anyone know where I can get a set of ATS centre cap badges in black, 60mm across? Two of mine have gone cloudy... Ta
  2. In that case then, it just needs the front steering geometry to be aligned, e.g tracking and camber... have a feeling laser alignment would be better...
  3. I'll give Brentacre a go and someone mentioned Greenlight? Anyone had any experiences of them too?
  4. Yeah currently with Admiral, but did you know that they charge you for telling them that you've modded your car, then they charge you again on top to cover those parts?! It's true, they told me! Secondly, they will only cover for £500 mods tops, so that's £500 overall, not per part. The sum of the parts I have on my car already goes over that. Is there a thirdly? Oh yes, they don't ask for proof so they can see how much that mod has actually cost you, so I asked what happens if you need to claim and they said they'd go by receipts - but they didn't know what would happen if you bought some refurbed wheels off a mate on a forum and don't have such a thing... As for Adrian Flux, always found them to have loads of hidden costs, admin charges, etc...
  5. Apart from Adrian Flux which I'd prefer to steer away from, can anyone else recommend a decent insurance company that covers modified cars and not at stupid rates? (e.g Lupo GTI) Cheers
  6. Hi there, I've now lowered my Lupo GTI and need to get it 4-wheel aligned to sort out tracking and camber settings properly. Can't afford VW main dealer prices - from £150!!!! Can anyone recommend an independent specialist or tyre place in Kent that they've used? Thanks Sezza
  7. Hi Danny - spotted ya of course in sunny Basildon today! A bit of a low rider you have there Good luck with selling it
  8. Ahhhh they're Rocco Jocco specials: 16in deep dish ATS Motorsports I believe, and quite rare too! Hey if you read Golf+ mag, my Loop will be in the August issue project pages
  9. That was me on a trip to the seaside! Tried to wave without smacking other half's head! Nice lookin' ride you have there
  10. Cool well I'll try and say hi to all the Lupo owners! I'll be taking my silver 2001 Lupo GTI up the strip!
  11. Bloody hell that's brill!! Thanks guys - a mega help
  12. My local VDub garage says there isn't any official tracking settings on their system for the Lupo GTI. (Maybe it's because they use a 4-wheel track to adjust?) So does anyone know what their car's adjusted to or what's the correct settings? Ta!
  13. Doh! I'm going to be reporting on it for Golf+, just wanted to rock over and say hi to some Club Lupo peeps Casper: I've seen the next issue page in the July mag and your car looks amazing....! Look forward to reading the write-up
  14. Is anyone planning on attending GTI International at Brunters this year? If so, is there a Club Lupo stand?
  15. As topic title - just wondered if anyone can recommend a motor factor or something similar where I can get hold of a replacement set of anti-roll bar bushes (front) and steering rack arms (as i have way too much play in mine!) And what do you guys reckon about a cambelt change again at 93,000 miles - last one was at around 60k... VW parts only on this one? Cheers Sezza
  16. Coolio! The guys at AmD are brill, and it's well worth it. Mines up from 125bhp to 143! I'll keep my eyes peeled for a stealth mode white Polo
  17. More than likely me!!!! Hello!!!! I've got a 2001 reflex silver Lupo GTI... What you got?? Let me know and I'll keep an eye out I've got a Golf+ sticker in the back window as I'm a staff writer for the mag - my Loop's a project car (just been remapped by AmD)
  18. That's exactly what's happening to mine - it's collapsing. Interesting.... perhaps it's a known fault on this model? Looks like I'll have to opt for buying one of these from my local dealer then! Thanks for all the comments...
  19. Hi guys and gals... Does anyone know where I can get hold of a new breather pipe which runs from the back of the air filter box down into the engine (with sensor) instead of forking out through my local VDub dealer? I believe the part number could be: 036103474AP Fanks Sezza
  20. Guess you're pleased you didn't get beaten by a girl - but then it was only a couple of ponies more from memory! You wait until I get you at Santa Pod up the strip, then you'll be weeping Mr Captain Slow
  21. Ahhhh! said I would put you up in the spotted forum - wondered if you did get any better than my Loop on the rollers! (That'd be 142.7bhp then!!) Sezza
  22. Hi, saw you this morning on the M20 going London bound, gorgeous looking Loop lowdown on split rims Usually it's only me in my Reflex Silver Lupo GTi so nice to see you!
  23. Hi everyone - thanks for the responses What we've found so far is that the fuse for the cooling fan had blown which is probably what caused the overheating... suspect the thermoswitch in the radiator to be faulty and tried starting the fan on speed 2 which blows the fuse, as it requires the first speed to already be running. Car has been running and luckily there's no indication of the head gasket being damaged. As soon as it started overheating and the warning light flashed, I got to a safe place off the motorway on the slip road which is when it blew, then turned engine off straightaway. Let it cool down for about 50mins, then drove it very slowly round the roundabout to a side road to be towed. Hopefully will be taking it for short spurts by the weekend to check everything is definitely hunky dorey... This will end up being my next instalment for Golf+ mag in the 'project cars' section, though there's not been much 'project' going on, more 'maintenance'...
  24. Thanks for this - will have a look when I get home at the relay just in case. Anyone else have any ideas?
  25. Ello - seen you twice now on the M20 going coastbound... Nice respray!
