I also have a Lupo with the engine check light illuminated on the dash, also thought it will be the Lambda Sensor. Any idea on cost of part, damage caused by driving whilst not fixed and easy of replacing yourself? Am I right in thinking it is a common fault, it is 1.0 btw. Many thanks

Thanks for the info, the lock repair kit sounds good if it works, the key does just rotate in the lock so fingers crossed.

The drivers door lock has broken on my daughters 2001 Lupo. From the feel of it, it will need replacing. It is a non central locking car. Where should I get a lock from and can I get it matched to the rest of the locks and keep using only one key. Also are new locks easy to fit? Many thanks

Right, 2001 Lupo 1.0 E, bought yesterday. It has done 120,000 miles but lots of history, last cambelt change that I can find documented in the history was at 73,000 in 2007. Does it need a new cambelt now or if not when. Should the tensioner and water pump be done at the same time ? Many thanks

Hi, my name is Jonny. I do not own a Lupo but we have just bought my daughter one (although I am seriously considering getting a GTi for myself now), she is over the moon with it. It is 2001 1.0 E in blue (jazz blue I think), it has loads of history and is quite tidy. Could I ask a few questions please (I have had bit of search but can’t find all the answers)? 1.The driver door lock was very stiff, I have used some WD40 which seems to have done the trick for the time being but are the locks a weak area? 2. I can’t seem to get the rear wash wipe to work, from what I can work out it is switched on from the end of the right had stalk, do the stalks break or where else should I look (fuses, relays etc). 3. Haynes doesn’t do a Lupo manual yet does anyone else? 4. Is there a full online OE parts catalogue available online, I have seen the one here but wondered if VW do one? 5. How often should the cam belt be done, it was last done at 72,000 miles, is there anything else I need to look out for maintenance wise? Many thanks Jonny

That is just what I wanted to hear. My daily driver is a Grand Cherokee and I just want something small, goodish mpg (35 and I would be happy) and fun, my Mrs can use the Jeep. All I need to do is find one, they are quite hard to find! Thanks for the advise.

I am new to Lupo's infact as of yet I do not own one. I am concidering getting a Gti. I have two questions for existing owners if I may. What MPG can I expect on average for normal driving? And are they happy on motorways? They are quite small so wondered if they get blown about by larger trucks etc. Many thanks Jonny
