Right ive been to my local vw garage and im trying to order a front lupo gti mat, ive discovered they only come as a pair and thats fine. Problem is going by vw all lupo mats are the same and the gti one is no different, but there offering me lupo mats that are graphite and im 100% that mine our black with red piping! Ive looked at loads of sites online but still cant find any. Any links or help would be much appreciated as my sister is trying to get me them for xmas. Cheers

Just had a call from VW and its not the alternator and the battery is getting the correct charge so thats good. They think its the exhaust as apparently its not in great condition. The other reason for it bing booked in was that the key fobs wernt working and alarm was going off every time i opened the car... unfortunately its a bigger problem that i expected and its a £250 jobby. Anyone know how much a brand new exhaust is?

Yeh i wouldn't normally go to the main dealer but i have a friend that works there so i get really good prices, probably a fair but cheaper than if i was to go to an independent garage.

VW seem to agree about the alternator and the smell is sulphur. Booked in for tomorrow.

Ok, the smell defiantly isn't there when the car is not running though. If it was the battery then would it smell all the time?

Thanks for you advice guys, its going to VW this week actually as the key fob isn't working and the bloody alarm goes off every time i get in the car so i will get them to change the pollen filter and check the voltage. Is the filter a relatively cheep job? Ive only had the car 2 weeks!

oh apparently not always when the heaters on, any ideas?

Got my lupo gti recently and when the heater is put on it throws out a horrific egg smell! I personally don't mind it but it makes missus urge! any ideas?
