  1. oh and the problem still exists even after the throttle body clean up, it did it driving home tonight stuck in traffic, move forward a little, stop, move again, stop that sort of traffic, i bite the clutch just to get it rolling then dip it and the revs stay constant, then rise a little then drop, all in about 2 seconds, can't seem to get to the bottom of it
  2. I have no idea's, full service history so i guess its been changed recently, last service was 4k ago
  3. Sounds expensive, but sounds very viable to me, what do you suggest?, the sensor is failing and needs replacing? Also just to add i bought some stb carb spray yesterday and got the air filter off last night for a clean, it was all sooted up so i gave it a right good clean, then gave it a try, did'nt really notice if it'd worked, got carried away giving it some stick No engine light btw, starts great, ticks over silently and drives like its possesed!
  4. as the title suggests.... ill mention a couple of mine to start with; airbag light on [fixed], slow throttle body [fixed], doors not shutting very well [in process of fixing]
  5. Oh that was me!, i remember you passing me, was gna have a little play but i was short of petrol , loved the look of the golf mate, looks sweet
  6. so wheres the throttle body located?, is it common to become sluggish?
  7. thanks for the replies, so you guys reckon its a slow throttle body?, it just seems weird, ill bite the clutch to potter forwards then dip it and the revs rise to about 1300 then slow back down, never seen this before on any cars ive owned
  8. Just wondering coz my GTi is revving up slightly when the clutch is dipped coming to a stop to like 1300rpm then revving down quite slowly before coming to rest at about 850rpm, this is effecting economy and i want to perhaps lube up the throttle somehow, not sure how ill go about doing this but i want to try it before i end up taking it to a garage, any opinions/solutions on this would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys
  9. How possible is this conversion?, is the fitment different between 5-speed and 6-speed? sorry if this has been asked a hundred times before, just curious. Jase
  10. Mines a flash red with black standard wheels, and black badges all round, looks sweet, some photo's in the members cars section. Which one you go for?, and welcome to club lupo
  11. aye well said, he did bend the truth a little about the wheels and badges on my car insisting they came as an optional standard, the actual truth is a previous owner had had them done, but its obvious hes going to bend the truth a little to make his stock seem more attractive, hes a car dealer, a salesman trying to make a sale to keep his business alive and kicking
  12. Alright fella, just bought my lupo GTi from there, great set of guys, and hell yeah they know what they're talking about, pete does'nt deal with badly treated cars, i do feel safe in the knowledge a vw specialist such as dubbers sold me my lupo, especially due to them being only a few miles from me, worth dealing with i say
  13. Cheers for the tip, was wondering how to post photo's properly
  14. jesus, is this a silly question or something?
  15. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-Polo-Gti-2006-Tai...id=p3286.c0.m14 I appreciate they're for a polo GTi, but im after some mats with GTi embroided with red trim and these fit the bill perfectly. Cheers
  16. Hey GT aye lad, im colne valley based, just a few miles from Dubbers, aye i saw the Anthracite GTi, its a minter!, but abit outta my price range , plus i prefer the GTi in my fav car colour, RED, plus with black wheels n badges really stands out, what colour you driving? ill look out for ya

  18. Based in Huddersfield mate, got the GTi from Dubbers, seems quite well known on here. @ crash, its completely standard mate nothings been changed, its a 5-speed version
  19. Quick photo of my GTi i picked up this gone weekend. Hope this works. http://img197.imageshack.us/img197/3135/gti001reggone.jpg
  20. So far i find the body tends to roll a little on the GTi, could perhaps do with stiffer suspension, you could throw the roadster into roundabouts with no body roll and stuck to the road like its on rails, however, i find that the GTi is more poised, it seems more ready to take on what you throw at it, i miss the back end action of the roadster mind you
  21. Hey guys, thanks for the welcome, really enjoying the power and space the GTi is giving me, bit of a downer is the economy like after the 50+mpg roadster, but loving the lupo. Dubbers; yeah they got and take on alot of Lupo's, they seem to know what they're doing with them, they took on the roadster too in a swap!, Pete the guy who runs dubbers had no idea about it hehe! @ Millsy Yeah its the red with black wheels and badges, looks amzing in that colour combo, the badges need doing again at some point as they're poorly done, the wheels could do with a touch up too, ill try get some photo's up this week. When and where is this meet then??
  22. Hey people, just thought id intruduce myself and the car, live in Hudds and just this gone weekend i purchased a lupo GTi in i think Flash red from Dubbers, no air-con [nevermind], or leather [nevermind again]anyway, love the car, wanted a red lupo GTi for a long long time, just moved from a smart Roadster to this, loved the roadster but was too small, the lupo fits the bill better, anyway so if theres any other lupo owners in the Huddersfield area from here give us a wave , its got a fair wad of mileage on it at 90k but with a full VW service history i went for it, all reciepts kept also so ive been looking through the work thats been done. Anyway, great to own one finally. Jase
