Cheers
Whacked the wheels on:
Not bad I don't think!
Fronts need some attention but will be doing that soon!
-
What size are the ones in the picture?
15x7 et25 with 165/50's - check my thread for more pics, used to be my car
-
Bagged it:
Straight out the box, massive tyres and arch liners holding me up for the time being!
-
Multi fit always looks cheap IMO
Like halfords specials
They look just like xxr527 with an awful centre cap
-
Just wondering if 165/45 r15 would be to insane or not I've seen how it looks on tyrestretch.com but it doesn't look very safe any one had experiences with 8j and these tyres?
Would be stupid, do you even need that much stretch?
-
what else?
Hydros - can just imagine this bouncing about
-
Doesn't have to be bags though.....

Will do
One pulled up with Santis on or monoblocks? There's plenty of monoblocks around but save for a couple of pairs in the US I couldnt find much on these. I spent ages trying to source the wider dishes for them and ended up getting some from Spain. If you find anything though, let me know please mate.
Will do!
-
They come from Japan - was at the tyre garage and a lucida move thing pulled up with these wheels on (in 5x114 though).
Unfortunately he wouldn't sell!
Can't for the life of me remember the name of them though...
Look very similar to enkei sporsh and brabus monoblock 3
Edit: 'santi' was the guys username and called them zauber santi's because he didn't know (taken from wheel whores). I seem to remember them being zauber monoblock 3 - taken from the brabus ones which are again very similar.
Awesome wheels though!

16's really
17-18 has been done but looks very 90's with big body kits etc.
Personally I would go for 15 or 16".
-
forehead grease
Is that to make licking the windows a smoother affair?
-
Been looking at them for a while, I can get insured on a GTi or a GTTDI (lower engines) but the dervs go for so much more money compared to the 1.8t...
Have to see whats occuring!
Worth hanging out for the tdi though - will hold their value much better as well.
-
Go on somewhere like rimstyle.co.uk or something, look at wheels you like, see if they do the fitment you need. As everyone has different tastes!
Or even look on the readers ride thread on here, get ideas
Don't go on rim style.
Keep checking classifieds etc. something will pop up. When you see the wheels you want you will know (and then frantically check the bank account to be able to pay for them)
-
Elbow grease?
-
Your certainly brave fitting them in this weather!
-
Yep reps 100% sure
A90615 refers to 9" wide 16" diameter et15
But yours are 15x8.
You can see the spokes are more rounded than the real deals too.
Still nice wheels, its a shame people sell them as genuine ones all stamped up borbet etc.
-
Right spoke to borbet today they did make 15" wheels 10 years ago never they was 7.5J... He she there is only 1 way to tell and that I'd they have AS sumit stamped on them :/ but I dunno...
That will be the numbers I posted above - the borbet part numbers.
Put a pic up and we can tell instantly.
-
Yer 130 gttdi
They are a great car, feels a lot more grown up than the lupo
The mk4's are a pain t I get low but once you have done all the behind the scenes bits and bobs they look awesome!
The teledial wheels are autostrada monzas.
-
Got some xenons:
Bought more wheels:
And a few other bits that are ready to go on
-
Genuine ones have part numbers:
A70535 or 70525 (the 7 denoting width, and the 35 or 25 denoting offset)
Edit: there are also 15x6 but no wider sizes in 15"
-
Nope use neither - upload to photobucket then copy the IMg code.
They 100% made 15's here are some pics of mine (genuine borbet - some reps are still stamped borbet but you can tell by the spoke shape)
With flat cap
They come in 13-18" never seen any 19"s.......yet
-
Do it!!
However the styling from the black one on your white one with some abt dr wheels (not sure if they make them in up size yet)
-
Borbet do make 15" A's.
I have had a couple of sets in different spec.
However there are some reps kicking about, mainly on ebay, and they are pretty poor copies.
Stick a pic of yours up and then we can make a proper judgement.
James' Lupo Sport - it's MEGA - Now a Golf - more wheels

Can't use them with airlift rear bags though!
