alex
VW are due to finish fixing the car today. They said is was not the hydraulics. The clutch was completely burned out, but I think that was the cause of a problem in the gearbox, which caused it no to engage properly and smoke the clutch majorly. It stank.Anyway, they had to take the whole gearbox out, and have had to replace the flywheel as well, as it was in a bit of a mess?, which seems as thought the gearbox did has something majorly wrong with it. As it has been through normal driving the guy said it should be on the warranty.

Sounds like its the same thing that happened to mine, its just that mine did more damage! Check the gearbox casing n make sure that there aren't any cracks in it! alex
VW are waiting on parts for the fly wheel. They said it was probably something to do with the balancing of the gearbox( I don't know what the name for the main shaft through the gearbox is)
